<strong>Catherine</strong> <strong>Maitland</strong><br />

Corps de <strong>Ballet</strong><br />

Born in Toronto, <strong>Catherine</strong> <strong>Maitland</strong> studied at <strong>Canada</strong>’s <strong>National</strong> <strong>Ballet</strong> School, graduating in<br />

2005. Ms. <strong>Maitland</strong> was an apprentice with <strong>The</strong> <strong>National</strong> <strong>Ballet</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Canada</strong> for the 2005/2006<br />

season and in 2007 joined the company as a member <strong>of</strong> the Corps de <strong>Ballet</strong>.<br />

With the <strong>National</strong> <strong>Ballet</strong>, Ms. <strong>Maitland</strong> has danced in <strong>The</strong> Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Romeo<br />

and Juliet, <strong>The</strong> Nutcracker, La Sylphide, An Italian Straw Hat, <strong>The</strong> Taming <strong>of</strong> the Shrew, Wolf’s<br />

Court, Jewels, <strong>The</strong> Four Temperaments and Symphony in C.<br />

Ms. <strong>Maitland</strong> performed in the company premiere <strong>of</strong> Michel Fokine’s Petrouchka (2006) and<br />

Balanchine’s Don Quixote (2007).<br />

While at <strong>Canada</strong>’s <strong>National</strong> <strong>Ballet</strong> Schoool, Ms. <strong>Maitland</strong> was the recipient <strong>of</strong> both the Erik<br />

Bruhn Memorial Scholarship and the Peter Dwyer Scholarship.<br />
