History
The original house and gate lodge have been sympathetically restored and upgraded. This is
a working stud farm and the highly regarded Clononeen herd of coloured cobs have been bred
and exported since the 1970s.
Description
The property is approached along an old stone wall and up a sweeping avenue leading to the
front of the house and round to the yard. There are two floodlit foaling paddocks adjacent to the
main house.
Clononeen house is a graciously proportioned family home. The open plan high ceiling
reception room leads into the kitchen and has considerable warmth, enhanced by the pleasant
proportions and brightness. Above the kitchen is a cozy den/ship’s bedroom. Upstairs are two
good size bedrooms and bathroom. Downstairs is another bedroom, bathroom and a selection
of cloakrooms and a utility. The kitchen leads through French doors on to a sunny patio and
walled garden with a wonderful lime tree and lawned sun trap.
There is a delightful 2 bed gate lodge at the rear entrance.

The property has been operated as home to one of the largest herds of purebred Irish coloured
cobs since the 1970s and has been continuously upgraded. It would make an ideal small stud
farm and would be suitable for other agricultural uses.
