Porsche Design presents 24 precious Christmas delights
The World’s Most Exclusive Advent Calendar
Stuttgart. This year Porsche Design rings in an especially sumptuous Christmas
season with its fabulous Advent calendar. This brilliant showpiece – which stands
approximately 1.75 metres high and is made of brushed aluminium with doublecoat
finish surfaces – reveals, each day up to December 24, a new surprise from
the world of Porsche Design. The exclusive Advent calendar, worth one million US
dollars, is limited to one piece per continent.
Amongst numerous compositions from the Porsche Design product portfolio the
Advent calendar, which must be the most exclusive in the world, conceals three
special highlights: a Porsche Design P’6910 Indicator in rosé gold, an individually
customisable Porsche Design kitchen P’7340 and a speedboat, eight and a half
metres long, designed by the Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See (Austria).
As the first chronograph worldwide having a mechanical-digital stopwatch display,
the P’6910 Indicator is equipped with one of the most complex serially-produced
wristwatch movements in the world. For the first time, the chronograph functions
have been combined with a genuinely mechanical jumping digital display. The
stopwatch function records hours, minutes and seconds up to a total time of 9
hours and 59 minutes. For this purpose the Swiss watchmaker Eterna who, as licensee
of Porsche Design, is responsible for the production and sales of Porsche
Design watches, conceived and built the 6036 movement. The chronograph, which
consists of approximately 800 individual components, impresses by its perfect synthesis
of innovative technology and precise craftsmanship.
The Porsche Design Kitchen P’7340 combines aluminium, wood and glass in a
style that is uncompromisingly functional, purist yet sophisticated. Its innovative
frame construction enables this luxury kitchen to be individually customised. A
modular system is created in which free surfaces are intentionally included, imparting
a technical flair. One special highlight is the handle-less cupboards which,
thanks to a precision system, open at a light touch, as if of their own accord, and
close again with a gentle push. As well as multifunctional light systems, the kitchen
is equipped with a high tech audio-video system.
The fascination of the RFF28 Speedboat by Porsche Design lies in its unique combination
of elegance and performance. It sets new standards both by its functional,
modern design and by its manoeuvrability, stability and horsepower. The Yacht,
which is just under eight and a half metres in length and more than two and a half
metres wide, has a 525 HP Mercury engine and reaches top speeds of up to 148
km/h. The cockpit interior, featuring a custom-made teak sole and adjustable, ergonomically
upholstered sporting bucket seats, contributes to a luxurious on-board
experience. The RFF28 is a symbiosis of power, technical sophistication and elegant
detail solutions crafted with solid perfection.
Behind the calendar’s 24 windows, accentuated by light bars, many other highlights
by Porsche Design lie hidden: these include sunglasses made of 18 carat
yellow gold, fine writing tools, timeless cufflinks and the premium running shoe
Bounce:S², which has won several design awards. The exclusive Advent calendar
also includes a limited edition leather blouson made from hand-woven lambskin
nappa, as well as a travel assortment from the French Classic luggage series – that
combines timeless design with the finest cowhide featuring a classic, accentuated
surface structure. Some of the products and compositions are represented symbolically
on aluminium plates, giving the Advent calendar a most distinctive style.
