From the Chair… Cindy LENOX John Carroll University Business & Finance Division Bulletin • number 124 Fall 2003 • page 3 SLA & the Excitement that is New York New York is very exciting! No one ever expects anything else. The SLA Conference in New York City was packed with excitement. As anyone who attended will tell you, there was always so much going on. And all smack in the middle of that spectacular city. For many of us, there was too much going on—too many “can’t miss” events going on simultaneously. Some of the highlights, for me, were catching up with other division members, touring the very impressive Information Center at the Lehman Brothers Building and attending a few of the memorable conference programs. There was truly a lot for everyone. It is an honor and privilege to be greeting you, the Business & Finance Division members, as your Chair. Right now we are in the process of planning next year’s Conference, which will be located at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. This location offers the advantage of being all under one roof, which means less time traveling between sessions. It will be fun and relaxed, while remaining exciting. This will be a good opportunity to continue learning while making new contacts and friends and catching up with old ones. The other members of the B&F Board and I invite each of you to get involved and, in that way, get the most out of the meeting and your membership. I invite you to contact me to suggest a program, volunteer for a committee, or otherwise offer ideas.
