Faith
As staff working in the Brisbane Catholic Education community of schools we have a
special call to build a new culture of life, firmly based on Jesus Christ. At Madrid we
will join with others to be witnesses of faith. WYD pilgrims come to WYD missioned to
make their contribution to the world.
Fun
With song, celebration, joy and unity, this may be the biggest celebration you will ever
attend!
Friendship
As a participant in the BCE Staff Pilgrimage you will have the opportunity to form real
friendships that continue long after the event is over. The pre-pilgrimage and postpilgrimage
events are designed to bring an authentic sense of community and commitment.
Festival
Young people will gather from Africa, North and South America, Asia, the Pacific and Europe for a colourful international
celebration. Prepare for a kaleidoscope of cultures in a vibrant festival of sharing and inspired learning.
Finale
The grand finale of the pilgrimage is a night vigil we shall never forget. The Pope will be there and the celebration
continues all night with a global sleep-out under the stars before the huge closing Mass in the morning.
Future
Pope Benedict has addressed young people as “builders of a new humanity” with a special mission to proclaim and
live a future filled with hope. As staff in BCE we take our place in this exciting mission.
