Da Bruun Rasmussen Kunstauktioner for få år siden besluttede at sætte 

mere fokus på våben, blev det mødt med en del skepsis i branchen. 

Mange var i tvivl om, hvorvidt danskere overhovedet var interesserede i at 

købe og sælge våben på auktion. 

Denne skepsis har i dag vist sig at være uberettiget, for på våbenauktionen 

i december har vi fornøjelsen af at kunne udbyde et meget stort antal 

eksklusive jagtvåben og antikke våben fra hele verden. 

Blandt de antikke våben præsenterer vi en udsøgt hirschfænger i sølv og 

elfenben udført af zarens våbensmed i Sankt Petersborg. Desuden er der 

et par fine pistoler i kasse fra Lepage a Paris samt et fornemt udvalg af 

militære våben – herunder en uhyre sjælden underofficersriffel af N. Løbnitz 

med tilhørende bajonet, der kun er fremstillet i ca. 30 eksemplarer. 

Udover fine flintlåsgeværer og pistoler af H. Kappel udbydes også et par 

tidlige hjullåsgeværer, der formentlig er udført i Tyskland. 

Engelske jagtvåben er også rigt repræsenteret. Herfra skal særligt nævnes 

fire sæt parbøsser, alle fra nogle af de bedste producenter i London. Det 

første sæt stammer fra Thomas Boss, er sjældent udbudt og har såkaldt 

”round body action”. To af sættene er singletriggers fra Holland & Holland, 

mens det fjerde sæt er fra Watson Brothers. Dertil kommer flere 

engelske våben – bl.a. en sjælden pinless Churchill O/U. 

Fra Orienten kan vi præsentere et fint udvalg af osmanniske og kaukasiske 

dolke og sværd udført i fornemt sølvarbejde, hvor nogle er besat 

med røde koraller. Ligeledes vil man i den japanske afdeling kunne finde 

et fint udvalg af sværd fra det 15.-19. århundrede.

A fine French Officers Sabre for the Guard of 

Paris c. 1790-1800 with a gilted brass hilt with 

rich decorations, decorated with the City Arms of 

Paris and text: VAINCER.OU MOURIR - Victory or 

death! The fine pommel is in the form of an antique 

warriors helmet with a lions head decoration 

at the front and the wire in the grip is fine. 

The 73 cm. long single edged blade with a single 

fuller is decorated with some slight scroll on the 

upper part. Total length 92 cm. Blankvåbentilladelse

Russian officers sabre with a German type lion 

pommeled brass hilt with the crossed cannons 

in silver on the langet indicating use by a high 

ranking officer of artillery, The open mouthed 

lion with red stone eyes swallows the knuckle 

bow. The back strap is decorated with cast flowers 

and the guard ends in a lioness or panthers 

head. The 78 cm. long single edged blade with 

a double fuller carries the crowned cypher of 

Nicolai II on one side and the crowned double 

headed Russian eagle on the other with a few 

Russian letters on the back. The sabre is in a 

traditional Russian schaska scabbard wrapped 

in black leather with 3 brass mounts. Total 

length in scabbard 93.5 cm. Blankvåbentilladelse

A British pattern 1796 infantry officers sword 

with a blade by J. J. Runkel in Solingen. The gilt 

on the brass hilt is still present to a large degree 

and the silver thread binding is fine but is a little 

loose. The 82,5 cm. long blade bear the royal 

cypher of George III on one side and the garter 

on the other. John Runkel was a major importer 

of German blades for the British Army during the 

Napoleonic Wars and this sword is of better than

A pair of good quality Belgian iron mounted 

target-pistols by Lassence-Ronge a Liege c. 1850 

with gothic half stocks, flat lock plates laid flute 

with the stock and marked LASSENCE-RONGE A 

LIEGE held to the stocks with a single screw. The 

25 cm. long octagonal barrels in twist damask 

is marked DAMAS TURC in silver and have fixed 

back sights and adjustable fore sights. The calibre 

of the barrels are c. 14 mm. The butt caps, 

trigger guards, hammers and barrel tangs are 

engraved with simple scroll. The stocks are good 

with normal use marks.

flere bøjler og nyreformede parerplader samt 

tombøjle. Parerstang mærket: V for von Bergen 

Kronborg Geværfabrik, parerpladen mærket: 

H=R=R=4=E No 82. Trægreb med læder og 

snoet tråd, træet flækket bagpå, lidt af læderet 

mangler og det meste af tråden. Med messingbånd. 

Enægget ret klinge med smal og bred 

hulslibning, stemplet: V og C7 1766. Længde

Dansk landkadetsabel M/1802 i skede med 

stort nederste skedebeslag og mindre øverste 

beslag - begge stregdekorerede. fæstet har godt 

ibenholtgreb og den ene af de to hjerteformede 

skedefjedre er mærket FJ i skriveskrift. Klingen 

er rustmærket og skedens læder noget mørt, 

men den er sjælden. Totallængde: 85 cm. klinge 

72 cm. og skeden 73 cm. Blankvåbentilladelse

hjort. Parerstang med bukkefødder samt flad 

knap med to hunde. Hvidt bengreb med udskåret

og ætsede dekorationer og skriftbånd med:

Et par fuldskæftede messingbeslåede danske 

pistoler ex flint ca. 1760 af David Metzger. De 

små kolbekapper er som resten af messingen fint 

eftergraverede med rocailler, aftrækkerbøjlerne 

når ned til kolbekapperne, låseblikkene er 

hvælvede og skåret med bladranker bag hanerne 

og mærkede DAVID METZGER A RENDSBURG 

i 3 linier, de 21 cm. lange piber er skåret om 

krudtkammeret og har flade rygge forsynede med 

indstilleligt sigtekorn og kærv på svansskruebladene. 

Skæfterne er fornemt skåret med bladranker 

om svansskruebladene og bag spidsrørkerne. 

Pistolerne er perkussionerede med påskruede 

knaster og hanerne dekorerede med vilddyr. Pistolerne 

er af fin kvalitet og låsene går stramt og 

præcist. David Metzger 1731 - 1807? arbejdede i 

Rendsborg fra ca. 1750.

Et par fuldskæftede messingmonterede danske 

officerspistoler med ringhane af J.C. Haugaard. 

ca. 1850. Skæfterne i nøddetræ med husariske 

kolber er lig dansk ringhanepistol M/1848 

Liege, mens de fulde forskæfter viser tilbage til 

ældre pistoler. De flade låseblikke er mærkede 

J.C.HAUGAARD KJØBENHAVN. De små sideblikke 

for den enkelte skrue, der fastholder piben 

til skæftet har nærmest karakter af underlagsskiver. 

Pistolerne har flade ringhaner uden 

dekoration og de bagtil ottekantede fortil runde 

piber i kaliber c. 16,5 mm. er ca. 23,5 cm. lange 

- mærket henholdsvis 1 og 2 på svansskruebladet 

- og fastholdt til piberne med engelsk skyder i 

messing. Den ene påloddede knast er fornyet og 

det samme gælder den ene stålladestok. Kolben 

på nr. 2 flækket ved låsen og har ilagt lus samme 

sted. Pistolerne er med al sandsynlighed et par 

private officerspistoler for en officer ved et af 

kavalleriregimenterne. Kalibret er en anelse for 

lille til at anvende de reglementerede patroner, 

hvad der må have voldt officeren problemer! 

Jens Christian Haugaard (1803-61) var bl. a. 

bøssemager ved Københavns Tøjhus 1828-37 og i 

1838 regimentbøssemager ved 1. Jydske Infanteriregiment. 

Han havde desuden privat værksted i 

København, hvor han arbejde for både marinen og 

Generaltoldkammeret.

A North Indian or Afghani Pesh-Kabz or as it is 

also called a Karud dagger with a thick hilt in 

horn, c. 24 cm. long blade with a pronounced T 

spine tapering to an acute tip. The wooden scabbard 

is covered with well preserved black leather 

and ends in a large steel mount. Blankvåbentilladelse

A Jambiya dagger properly from Kurdistan with 

a good c. 19 cm. long curved double edged 

wootz? blade with pronounced middle rib. The 

rather thick grip is in classical "I" shape which 

is typical of the Kurds Jambiya. The scabbard is 

wood covered with leather and have two iron 

mounts decorated in silver. The blade is decorated 

on one side with native script in gold.

A large good quality Ottoman kindjal dagger 

early 19th century with a grip in gilded silver 

set with corals on three sides, a c. 44 cm. long 

tapering double edged blade with two fullers on 

each side slightly decorated with silver koftgari 

work by the ricasso. The scabbard in pressed 

silver sheet decorated with flowers and scroll is 

set with corals at the top and bottom on one 

side. Total length 67 cm. Blankvåbentilladelse

A short Indian Tulwar with a hilt decorated with 

gold. The small iron hilt of classical form is almost 

completely covered with gilded decorations 

in the form of flowers. The 58 cm. long bright 

blade with yelman is quite light and flexible. 

The wooden scabbard is covered with blue cloth 

decorated with gold-woven ornaments. Total

with a cross on both sides. The black traditional 

hilt is in fine condition though it has no leather

A Passau rapier c. 1580-60 with a good broad 

blade marked with the running wolf mark of 

Passau - the famous German centre for producing 

swords. The hilt confirms to A. V. B. 

Norman's type 43 and has a pair of quillions 

supporting a side-ring and arms for the smaller 

side-ring. The pommmel is almost round and the 

binding on the grip is in twisted and plaited iron. 

The good double edged blade tapering to an 

acute point is almost 93,5 cm. long with a deep 

fuller on the upper quarter. The fuller is marked 

with the running wolf mark on both sides and 

the ricasso has two identical marks. The sword is 

in very good condition with a some what pitted

E.J. Churchill. A rare 12-bore "Premiere" single 

trigger over and under pinless sidelock ejector 

gun no. 3113. 32 inch sleeved barrels with 

2 3/4 inch chambers and ca. full choke borings. 

The lightly -bolstered action with carved 

fences, pinless lockplates, gold inlaid cocking 

indicators, non-selective single trigger, double 

rolled-over triggerguard. Profusely engraved with 

fine scrollwork and "THE PREMIERE QUALITy" 

inlaid in gold on the underside. Retaining much 

case colour hardening and finish. 15 inch wellfigured 

stock with pistol grip, semi-monte carlo 

comb and engraved steel pistol grip cap and with 

7/8 inch rubber recoil pad. The stock has insert 

repairs to underhorns - one with a crack. 

In its lightweight leather Very Compact case with 

the lid stamped "Russel Barnett Aitken, New york 

City". Jagttegn eller samlertilladelse påkrævet. 

Russel Bernett Aitken was a well-known American 

Big Game Hunter, sculture and painter. 1910-2002.

parerstang med hul til kæde. Greb med snoet 

messingtråd. Flad knap med hul til kæde. Klingen, 

tidligere tveægget, senere slebet enægget, 

med bred hulslibning. Dekoreret med trofæer, 

to måner og kabalistiske tegn. Længde 69 cm.

A good German brass mounted flint lock hunting 

pistol by Wass in Bamberg with a pronounced 

curved butt and a butt cap decorated with the 

bust of an antique warrior and military trophies. 

The escutcheon is decorated with the messenger 

of the goods and the side plate has hunters with 

dogs chasing wild boar. The flat lock plate is

decorated with carved monsters and an eagle 

with a snake while the hammer is carved with 

a harpy. The two-stage 37 cm. long barrels in 

calibre c. 13 mm. Rifled barrels with the original 

browning is marked WASS IN BAMBERG in silver 

and the number 2 on the tang. The fine dark 

brown stock is carved around the metal and ends 

in horn like the wooden ramrod with a bullet screw.

A fine brass mounted hunting flint lock pistol by 

Johan Jacob Kuchenreuter c.1740 with a curved 

butt. The butt cap is excellent and decorated 

with an antique warrior standing on military 

trophies beneath a good grotesque mask. The 

butt has a crowned blank escutcheon with flags 

and drums. The sheet side plate is carved with 

deer and dogs and the trigger guard ending in 

a flowerpot has a good figure of a hunter with 

his gun. The flat lock plate is signed JOH. JAC. 

KUCHENREUTER in four lines behind the hammer 

and is finely carved with a resting hunter 

and his dog. The damask barrel with a flat back 

and a silver adjustable fore sight is 29 cm. long. 

The stock ends in horn like the ramrod and has 

been restored. The fore stock has been expertly 

replaced and a 5.5 cm. long shiver of wood is 

replaced in front of the lock and another by the 

front screw. Johann Jacob Kuchenreuter 1709- 

1783 worked in Steinweg as court gunmaker to 

the von Thurn und Taxis family.

A fine Austrian flint lock hunting pistol by Caspar 

Zellner in Wienn with cast and gilded? brass 

mounts. The butt cap has a good grotesque 

mask and decorated like the rest of the mounts 

with hunting scenes. The butt has a pronounced 

curve and the flat lock plate is carved with 

mounted warriors in battle and signed CASPER 

ZELLNER beneath the pan and IN WIENN behind 

the hammer. The 28,5 cm. long barrel with a flat 

back is Turkish with a mark in gold and leaves in 

silver above the powder chamber. The side plate 

is decorated with hounds and game, while the 

trigger guard has a shooting match scene. The 

light brown walnut stock ends like the wooden 

ramrod in horn and is carved around the metal. 

The stock is expertly repaired with a shiver of 

wood inlaid by the lock. Caspar Zellner died according 

Støckel in 1745.

scabbard. The "I" shaped black wooden grip is 

lined with 6 bands of silver between to rings of 

niello inlaid silver decorated with flowers. The 28 

cm. long slightly curved double edged blade is in 

Turkish wootz and the wooden scabbard is completely 

covered with thick engraved silver plates 

decorated with flowers on a niello background 

and with 2 medallions showing an Ottoman town 

on one side and military motifs beneath a sunburst

Turkmenistan with a Rhino? hilt decorated by 

the blade with turquoise set in silver. The fine 

single edged blade is c. 20,5 cm. long and the 

wooden scabbard covered in red velvet has two 

large mounts in silver pressed with flowers - the 

upper mounts is ringed by turquoise like the 

grip. Total length 35 cm. Blankvåbentilladelse

A brass mounted Flint lock pistol with a barrel 

by Giovanni Battista Francino and a lock "alla 

fiorentina" signed Carlo Fondrino in Brescia on 

the rim. The pistol has been restocked in the 

middle east and has a small brass butt cap, a 

rather crude trigger guard and side plate in sheet 

carved with sparse scroll. The lock is fine and 

typical of early 17th century Italian type finely 

carved with flowers and scroll with a plain middle 

part. The hammer is excellent with carved 

monsters and scroll. The two stage 34,5 cm. long 

barrel marked Gio. Batt. Francino has a fluted 

back part and a round plain fore part with no 

sight. The dark brown polished stock is carved 

around the metal and ends in brass. Giovanni 

Battista Francino 1601-53 worked in the Gardone 

Val Trompia Brescia and is considered as on 

of the bast makers of the large Francino family. 

Carlo Fondrino c. 1580-1640 worked - like the 

Francino family - in Brescia.

A good silvermounted flint lock pistol marked 

Janzig on the barrel and a Forcheim on the lock. 

The butt cap in heavy silver has a carved rather 

naive grotesque mask. The butt has an escutcheon 

of military trophy type and a decoration of 

flowers in silver thread and brass flowers. The 

same type of decoration is on the lower part 

of the forestock. The flat banana shaped lock 

with a fine steel carved grotesque mask behind 

the hammer is marked A. FORCHEIM. The solid 

silver sideplate has a leaves decoration at both 

ends and the triggerguard final is a variation of 

the flowerpot type. The 34 cm. barrel in calibre 

15.5 mm. is carved above the powder chamber 

and held to the full stock by silver wire. There 

is no provision for a ramrod. This pistol might 

or might not have been sent to the near eastern 

market as it is, but was probably restocked there 

by an expert craftman, as all silver mounts carries 

Ottoman marks and the decoration is definitely 

not Germanic in type. Janzig a Forcheim is not 

in Støckel.

An extremely fine and rare European early 18th 

century iron mounted hunting gun with a French 

stock with chin rest completely covered with 

bone inlays in the form of animals, scrolls and 

pellets all sitting within segmental lines and 

bone bands. On the left side near the butt cap 

is a hunter with his gun. The bone decoration 

continues in front of the flat lock-plate until the 

rear ramrod pine. The 110 cm. long round barrel 

with a flat back has pointilistic engravings on its 

entire surface in the form of flowers scrolls and 

leaves with the same decorations on the butt 

cap, side-plate and trigger-guard. Underneath 

the barrel is latched a 58 cm. long bayonet with 

a flat head c. 16 cm. long and a round rod intended 

for hunting wild boar. The bayonet is not 

connected to a spring and needs to be pulled by 

the hand. Because of the bayonet the ramrod is 

placed on the left hand side of the fore-stock 

and is held by 3 ramrod pipes. The smooth bore 

barrel is in calibre is c. 13,6 mm. with a fixed 

sight on the tang - close to the minimum calibre 

for hunting wild boar.

A pair of fine quality Belgium over and under 

fully stocked brass mounted flint lock pistols 

c. 1720 by M. Delince. The leave decorated 

butt caps are large and the butts have unfilled 

crowned escutcheons. The banana shaped locks 

are flat and signed M. DELINCE. The fine sideplate 

are pierced and decorated with leaves. The 

two flat-topped smooth bored barrels are c. 31,5 

cm. long i calibre c. 14 mm stamped three times 

with the royal emblem of protection and strength 

- the rampant lion in brass as well as MD. The 

brass tipped ramrods are held to the stock by 2 

octagonal ramrod pipes and the stocks are finely 

carved behind the back pipes and by the tangs. 

The two barrels are fired by only one lock and 

one alternates between the barrels by means 

of a sliding pan. Because of this the pistols are 

surprisingly light and can easily be carried or 

used. This method of obtaining a second shot 

is quite rare and these pistols are well preserved. 

The maker M. Delince is not in Støckel but he 

is probably a member of the large gun-making 

family Delince from Liege.

svagt modtagestempel. Sideblikket er mærket 

HNA 3 C N 33, låsen har et svagt initialstempel 

der ikke kan læses og aftrækkerbøjlen er mærket 

H G No 81 i skriveskrift. Den sidste mærkning 

kan tydes Holstenske Gendarmer nr. 81 og 

er overordentlig sjælden! Den ca. 77 cm. lange 

bagtil ottekantet pibe, hvis øverste kant fortsætter 

til mundingen, har på venstre side kasse for 

hirschfængerbajonet M/1801. Ladestokken er 

cylinderkonisk og fastholdes af tre messingrørkner. 

Skæftet er ualmindeligt velbevaret og kan 

være en omskæftning udført under geværets 

brugstid, der har været lang. Holstenske Gendarmeri 

blev oprettet i 1839 og da var geværet 

allerede omkring 80 år gammelt. Gendarmerne, 

der alle var underofficerer, havde brug for eksercergeværer 

for at undgå slid på deres krigsvåben 

og dette er et af dem.

Særdeles sjælden dansk Løbnitz underofficersriffel 

Model 1842 mærket M-1842 A-1842-18 

under Chr. VII kronede monogram på basculens 

venstre side. Alle metaldele inklusiv de fleste 

skruer er stemplet 18. Der blev ialt fremstillet 33 

af disse rifler, der blev udleveret til forsøg, men 

ikke antagne. Den tilhørende bajonet er ligeledes 

mærket A-18 på klinge og fæste samt kronet F 

på klingebrystet. Klingerne blev ikke nyfremstillet 

til bajonetten, men man anvendte klinger fra 

jægerhirschfænger M/1801 i stedet. Ved skruen 

der fastholder håndbøjlen til grebet er stemplet 

PE - antagelig for gørtleren på Kronborg Geværfabrik?

An extremely fine small pocket pistol by 

Mortimer only 11 cm. long with a small butt 

almost complety covered in fine silver thread 

and marked on the action with MORTIMER ST. 

JAMES ST on one side and LONDON on the 

other. The small un-screwable barrel is only 3 

cm. long and the pistol has a folding trigger and 

a sliding safety. Mortimer is probably Jackson 

Mortimer 1762-1818, who in 1802 became gunmaker 

to the prince regent.

of the 1850's with ivory butt, finely engraved 

bascule, folding trigger and turn-off rifled barrel. 

The pistol is only 4 cm. long and the workmanship

A small interesting Italian iron mounted full 

stocked snaphance pistol by the unknown maker 

Guardiani Aizga Anghiari c. 1660-80. The pistol 

is of the highest quality with a small womans 

head on the butt cap, the trigger guard goes all 

the way to the butt and ends in a vase in front 

of the trigger. The lock is round and slightly 

banana shaped with a punched decoration along 

the edge. The hammer screw has a fine carved 

head and is held to the lock with a nut from the 

inside. The two-stage barrel is c. 13 cm. long 

and marked with a faint crowned mark in gold. 

The stock is slightly carved around the lock and 

the ramrod is in iron. On the inside of the lock is 

the makers name, which is not in Støckel.

A richly decorated bone powder flask probably by 

Ernst Schmidt? in 16th century style made from 

a large bone. The flask is completely covered 

with carvings inlayed in black with a naked 

female on each side, one holding a spear and 

the other holding a banner. The flask is probably 

made by the well-known firm of Ernst Schmidt, 

who worked in Munich during the later part of 

the 19th century and who had a thriving business 

satisfying the demand for rare antiques.

cross bow with a traditional German stock inlaid 

with bone. The c. 56 c. long steel bow carries 

a makers mark - a cross in a circle beneath a 

crown? - which is not in Støckel. The stock has 

finely carved bone flowers around the pins, an 

arrow bed in bone and a well executed grotesque 

mask on the flat top together with flowers. The 

chin rest has a fine medallion carved with a dog 

chasing a wild boar an the butt cap in bone has 

finely carved flowers. On the right hand side is 

two oval medallions - on is a coat of arms with a 

rampant lion beneath a knights helmet and the 

other depicts a large medieval castle - perhaps 

the home of the nobleman, who where the first 

owner of the cross bow?

oprindelig udgave. Særdeles god stand med initialstempel 

på låsen under panddækkelfjederen, 

men uden afdelingsmærker. Træet er usædvanlig 

velbevaret og alt metal er fint afrenset. 

Ladestokken er af den originale type og ligeledes 

uden afdelingsmærker. Der er en enkelt revne i 

forskæftets højre side ved midterste rørken og 

aftrækkerbøjlens bagerste afslutning er mærket V 

- et godkendelsesstempel fra Kronborg Geværfabrik, 

hvor denne sjældne danske militærriffel 

blev fremstillet i et antal af 2.400 stk. I dag 

eksisterer der kun ganske få i denne kvalitet! 

Kolbekappen er mærket 71 - antagelig et internt 

regimentsnummer eller et rustkammernummer. 

Riflen har ikke været udstryet med den normale 

bajonetfatning. Oprindelig blev riflerne leveret 

uden, men de fleste kendte eksemplarer er i 

dag med bajonetfatning. Viseret er et standviser 

uden klap - ligeledes som den oprindelige riffels. 

Riflen er blevet brugt, men har overlevet til i dag 

i bedste stand. 

Der kendes så vidt vides i dag kun 3 eksemplarer af 

denne oprindelige version af jægerriflen M/1791.

The fore stock is decorated with a few round 

pieces of bone and the stock ends in carved

A fine german short sporting wheellock gun 

dated 1672 on the octagonal slightly swamped 

barrel with a blade fore-sight and a standard 

rear-sight. The flat lockplate in bright iron has 

a brass wheelcover decorated with raised leaves 

covering the external wheel. The sliding pan 

cover is operated by a small button in the shape 

of a maltese cross and the rather large hammer 

is operated by a decorated spring. The barrel is 

marked PW (Stockel 4395) and dated 1672. The 

full stock in varnished wood is inlaid with a stag 

on the butt and is lined by strips of bone. The 

box cover is in wood decorated with a large piece 

of carved bone. The wooden iron tipped ramrod 

appears to be original to the gun. Total lenght 

99 cm. barrel lenght 71,5 cm. 

According to the family tradition this gun originally 

belonged to Von Alten, the German family of noblemen.

A pair of best quality French boxed percussion 

duelling or target pistols c. 1835 by Lepage 

- gunmaker to the French court. The cased set 

was bought by the royal Danish envoy M. C. J. T 

Clan in Russia just after the revolution in 1917 

and has been in the property of the same family 

since then. The half stocked pistols are iron 

mounted and carved with fine oak leaves round 

the butt-plate. The butts are finely chequered 

and the half stocks ends in good wood carved 

mussel shells. The flat locks laid flute with the 

stock are marked LE PAGE A PARIS in gold and 

decorated with military trophies behind the lock, 

some slight scroll at the front and lightning bolts 

in front of the hammers. The hammers are flat 

with carved eagles heads and thunderbolts. The 

spurred trigger guard finals are decorated with 

a knight's helmet and the guards have finely 

executed military trophies. The highly polished 

walnut stock of the pistol marked 1 is marked 

3135 on the inside and the same number can be 

found beneath both barrels. The browned tip-up 

octagonal rifled barrels in twist damask in calibre 

13 mm. are 23,2 cm. long and marked

1 or 2 - also in gold. The patent breeches have 

platinum bushed vents and the adjustable fore 

sights are in German silver. The case is in highly 

figured hazel wood is framed with brass and 

lined with now faded velvet in good condition. 

In the case a bullet mould also marked number 

3135, an iron octagonal oil flask, a small brass 

powder measure, a cleaning rod, an iron ramrod 

and a fine hardwood hammer. The case also have 

two empty compartments for bullets and percussion 

caps. The screw driver and powder flask are 

missing. 

These fine set trigger pistols are the work of (Jean 

André Prosper) Henry Lepage (1792-1854), who 

took over his father's (Jean Lepage) business in 1822 

and worked at gunmaker to the French court under 

3 kings - Louis XVIII, Charles X and Louis Philippe. 

They are a tribute to the very high quality of workmanship 

achieved in France during the first third 

part of the 19th century, starting with the Boutet's 

and ending with Henry Lepage.

between decorations - proably from the Koran.

repaired with pewter and 5 of the corals have

A good Malayan 3,5 cm. calibre Lantaka cannon 

on a stand. The lenght is c. 104 cm. making this 

one of the larger swivel guns made in Malaya after 

a 16th century Portuguese model with a tube 

at the breech by which to train the gun. The 

triangular decoration with leaves are native and 

the cannon have no swivel and pin. They were 

used in Borneo as one of the principal forms of 

wealth and as currency. This cannon seems never 

to have been bored through and can for this 

reason not be used as a gun.

Khud helmet. The riveted chain is thicker at the 

shoulders and arms than at the legs, where the 

rings are small and fine. The breast and back 

are protected by plate - the two front plates are 

engraved with native writings and have rings for 

attachment. For similar chain shirts see H. Russel 

Robinson "Oriental Armour" s. 93-99. The chain 

shirt is properly from the arsenal in Junagarh 

Fort, Bikaner. The helmet has a smooth crown 

in steel lined with a brass ring, a brass spike and 

nasal protection. The forehead and neck are 

protected by fine non-riveted chain mail.

Georg H.K. Christensen (1818-83) var i lære hos 

flere bøssemagere i Europa, og kom 1847 til København, 

hvor han blev mester i 1849, senere ansat på 

Kronborg Geværfabrik og ved Københavns Tøjhus. 

Han overtog sin stedfar Nicolai Løbnitz' private 

forretning som han i 1878 overdrog til Poul Poulsen. 

Han betragtes som sin generations bedste bøssemager, 

og hans fineste arbejder som denne jagtriffel, 

kan sammenlignes med det bedste udenlandske 

bøssemageri.

A fine long-barrelled iron mounted Danish 

smooth bore hunting gun by Heinrich Kappell, 

Copenhagen. The bulbous butt shows the guns 

late 17th century date and so does the extremely 

long barrel, which is almost 128 cm. long in calibre 

c. 18 mm. The good stack is slightly carved 

around the trigger guard, the tang and the back 

ramrod pipe. The bright lock-plate is signed 

H.KAPPELL KOBENHAGEN and has a sliding 

safety. The swan-necked hammer has a fine and 

sparse steel cut scroll and the battery has a pronounced 

"bomb".The raised side plate is a double 

S with slight decoration. The four stage barrel 

has an octagonal back, a fluted part in front 

and two round parts divided by a ring. On the 

barrel a large V type back sight and a small bead 

fore sight in silver. The barrel has been cleaned 

and has a somewhat pitted appearance. The long 

ramrod with a thread for a bullet screw is held by 

three round iron pipes. Henrich Kappel worked 

as a gunmaker in Copenhagen 1674-1718 and 

became gunmaker to the Danish Court in 1699 

and many of the guns in the Royal collection are 

by him. He is considered as one of the best 17th 

century gunmakers in Europe with many guns in 

the best collections. This gun was not made as 

a showpiece but for use, and not many of those 

survives today - this is an exception.

An superb and important Russian silver mounted 

hirschfänger or hunting hanger with a good 

ivory grip finely carved with a bear on the front 

and a stag chased by a dog on the back beneath 

a decoration of oak leaves and acorns. The silver 

pommel is in the shape of a crown and the solid 

silver quillion is cast with a wolf at one end and 

a tiger? on the other with the head of a wild 

boar in the middle. The backside has the traditional 

oak and acorn design. The bright double 

edged blade with 3 deep fullers is c. 44 cm. long 

and ends in an acute point. On the front of the 

blade the Russian imperial coat of arms with the 

double headed eagle and Saint George The Victor 

in the centre. On the other side the name J. 

LADERET ARQer DE L'EMPEREUR A ST PETER- 

BOURG. The impressive balck leather covered 

scabbard has two fine cast silver mounts. The 

upper is lined with oak leaves and has a dogs 

head frog button and a left turned grouse

beneath a bush. The lower mount is also lined 

with oak leaves and has a raised bear's head 

over a gun and hunting spear with a horn and 

powder flask beneath. The workmanship is 

impressive as one would expect from a gunmaker 

to the Russian imperial house, but not much is 

know of Jean Laderet, who worked as gunmaker 

to the czars in St. Petersburg c. 1860-1890. He 

probably originated from Liege or St. Etienne in 

France? Russian imperial hunting weapons were 

of the highest quality as could be seen from the 

fine exhibition held at the Danish Forestry and 

Hunting Museum in 1996. The czars Nicholas 

I and Alexander II both took a keen interest in 

hunting and this resulted in the production of 

the finest quality weapons made anywhere in 

the world in the later part of the 19th century 

- this superb hunting hanger belongs to these.

An interesting 18-19th century rasp probably for 

grating charcoal to use in mixing black powder? 

consisting of a c. 46 cm. long slightly tapering 

hollow wooden base c. 9,5 cm. across at the 

broadest point with an iron rasp and a lid carved 

with a good stag being attacked by two dogs. 

The back is carved in high relief with a hunter in 

early 18th century clothing shooting at fleeing 

stags, while his two dogs attacks a wild boar. 

The piece is quite extraordinary and in very fine 

condition.

A good unsigned iron mounted European long 

barrelled flint lock pistol c. 1730. The bulbous 

butt cap of fish tail type with a good grotesque 

mask is carved with gilt inlaid military motifs, 

the flat slightly banana shaped and flat hammer 

are carved with the same motifs all over, the 

finely carved side plate is of the dragon type, 

the trigger-guard has a vase type final and is 

decorated with military motifs at the end, gilded 

flowers at the front and the guard it-selves has 

a gilded warrior standing between two spears, 

the 36,5 cm. long flat topped two-stage smooth 

bored barrel in calibre c. 16 mm. with a V-type 

back sight and an almond shaped brass foresight 

is carved with a warrior standing on a drum 

surrounded by cannons and flags, while the flat 

back is carved with gilded flowers all the way 



to the fore sight. The touch-hole is gold lined. 

The wooden ramrod ends in horn and is held 

to the stock with two octagonal ramrod pipes 

decorated with gilded flowers. The highly figured 

stock is carved around the metal and has at one 

time been cracked before the lock, but has been 

professionally repaired. At one time this pistol 

was very flashy with probably blue metal with 

the gilded decorations standing proud. Today 

the metal is in the grey and the gilt missing on 

perhaps 40 per cent of the surface, but the pistol 

is still fine and very interesting.

A pair of English saw handle half stocked target 

or duelling percussion by Drury & Wilde with 

cross hatched butts, a lock with sliding safety 

laid flute with the stock and decorated with fine 

foliate as is the flat hammer. The octagonal barrels 

are c. 23,5 cm. long and smooth bored. The 

barrels are held to the stock by a single barrel 

pin and the bone tipped ramrods with screws are 

held by two pipes - one on the stock and one 

welded to the barrel. Drury & Wilde worked in 

Liverpool according to Støckel around 1820, but 

these pistol are somewhat later.

An impressive signed Russian niello silver Cossack's 

belt made in 1880 by Blumberg Egor 

Ivanovich 1841-1886. The belt consist of 60 

silver links and a clasp stamped 84 for quality, 

the mark of Tiflis (Tbillisi) and E.B. All links 

are deeply carved with a geometric pattern and 

inlaid with niello. The bottom of each link are 

gilded and on the top is some filigree work. 

The leather is fine and subtle. Length c. 75 cm. 

across c. 3,1 cm, weight c. 600 gram. Blumberg 

Egor Ivanovich worked both in Tiflis and in 

Moscow. The belt is mounted on a custom made 

wooden stand.

Kolben har kindpude og netskåret hals, den usignerede 

lås er lagt i ét med skæftet og fastholdes 

af en enkelt skrue med underlagsskive, den 

ottekantede pibe riflet med 8 dybe riffelgange 

er ca. 76 cm. lang og er forsynet med bajonetfatning 

af militær model til en hirschfænger bajonet. 

Låsen har snelleaftræk og piben fastholdes 

af 2 engelske skiver med underlagsskiver i nysølv. 

Kolbekappe, aftrækkerbøjle, svansskrueblad, hane 

og låseblik fint graveret med bladslyng. Riflen 

kan meget vel være anvendt i 1. Slesvigske krig. 

Carl Heinrich Delcomyn, 1800 - 1867, var en af 

de betydeligste danske bøssemagere i sin samtid 

og havde en omfattende privat produktion - 

delvist baseret på piber og dele fra Liege, hvorfra 

også denne riffels pibe stammer.

Piben er ret svær, ottekantet ca. 76,5 cm. lang 

i kaliber ca. 17 mm. og er forsynet med klapvisir. 

Skæftet ender i horn og ladestokken af 

militær type, fastholdes af tre glatte rørkner. 

Ladestokken er cylinderkonisk og mærket S.I.T 7.

A good cased pair of solid percussion brass 

mounted double barrelled howdah pistols by 

Maybury & Sons c. 1857 - one marked H.H. 

HOLKAR on the flat butt cap. The pistols are 

fully stocked with c. 20 cm. long side by side 

tip-off barrels with hinged ramrods, marked 

MAyBURy & SONS on the barrel divide for the 

firm of the same name, active in Birmingham in 

the period 1838 - 1886. The back action locks 

are plain and marked 1857. The oak case lined 

in green velvet contains a bullet mould, a patch 

cutter, a cleaning rod, a powder measure, a screw 

driver, a box for percussion caps and another for 

ready made cartridges. The pistols are of good 

although plain manufacture and interesting in 

them selves. So is the inscription on the butt cap 

and the date 1857. They were probably given 

as a token of esteem and for protection to His 

Highness Maharajadhiraja Raj Rajeshwar Sawai 

Shri Sir Tukojirao II Holkar XI Bahadur, Maharaja 

of Indore, who wisely and fortunately remained 

true to the British as troops belonging to his 

state, Indore, joined the Indian mutiny in 1857. 

They may not be the kind of pistols usually connected 

with the prince of India, but at the time 

they properly were appreciated!

A large English military great drum by Alfred Hall 

Gisborne, 37 Suffolk St. Birmingham with heads 

measuring 83 cm. in diameter and 49 cm. in 

depth. Painted red with the English coat of arms 

on a black background and the maker's name. 

The heads are whole and the shell has a few 

worm holes. With the drum comes 1 drumstick

Belgian made military percussion pistol c. 1850 

by A. Francotte Liege. Marked on the lock plate 

with a c. 21 cm. long round barrel with octagonal 

breech section with a very smooth outside 

and a pleasing grey finish. The barrel is mounted 

with a steel blade, front sight and no rear sight. 

Lock-plate and hammer have a very pleasing 

gray coloration. Edges and corners are very sharp 

with good lock mechanism, works perfectly. The 

one piece walnut stock is in excellent condition 

and is mounted with brass furniture comprising 

the butt-cap, trigger-guard bow, nose-cap, 

and side-plate with no provision for a ramrod. 

The back-strap is in steel and a lanyard ring is 

located on the butt. Possibly made for export.

God dansk/norsk flintmusket M/1794 mærket LI 

på låseblikket, 105 cm. lang pibe malet gråsort. 

Godt skæft, repareret med indlagt flis på 

forskæftets venstre side, ditto på samme sted 

på højre side, lus lagt i ved spidsrørknens stifter, 

ladestok malet, som piben stemplet I. L. K? 6. 

C. 3. Kolben er skåret med et kassationskors og 

bag aftrækkerbøjlens bagende er islået 1797 

- muligvis produktionsåret. Malingen tyder på, 

at denne musket har været i en af de ældre 

samlinger, hvor netop denne type maling blev 

anvendt for at beskytte metallet og derved lette 

arbejdet med at holde en større samling våben i 

god stand.

Schultz & Larsen. A .308 Win. bolt action rifle 

Mod. 100 DL. 23 1/2 inch barrel with rampmounted 

sights. The action with custom made 

safety and magazine with hinged bottom plate. 

The bolt handle has a brass inletted plate with 

"M" engraved. 12 3/4 inch ** grade Monte Carlo 

stock with cheekpiece and Pachmayr rubber recoil 

pad. The rifle appears virtually unused. The 

quick release mount shown on the picture does

The M100 was the last rifle produced by the Schultz 

& Larsen Rifle Co. in Otterup. This rifle was one of 

the earliest of the few hundred ever made.

holster for a brace of pistols made of leather 

covered with black felt lined with red. The holster 

were carried by either an enlisted man or NCO of 

Napoleons "Train d'artillerie". The condition is 

fine with well preserved leather dubbed by brass. 

The felt is fine with the original lining in light 

blue cotton. Length 34 cm.

Dansk tapriffelkarabin M/1852 i bedste stand 

med tilhørende ladestok med kradser. Låsepladen 

er mærket kronet TR VII samt MD 1852 og 406. 

406 går igen på aftrækkerbøjle, kolbekappe, 

svansskrueblad, pibens kammerende og 

næsebeslaget. I alt blev der fremstillet 700 stk. 

tapkarabiner og på aftrækkerbøjlens forende 

ses et kronet L - samme mærke genfindes på 

ladestokkens øverste del og er et kontrolstempel 

fra Suhl. Muligvis for den danske kaptajn 

K. Lundahl, der i Suhl godkendte karabinerne. 

Kolben har minimale brugsspor. Lås, karabinstang, 

næsebeslag og pibe har stadig det meste 

af bruneringen intakt og låsen går stramt og 

præcist.

794 fremstillet i USA. Basculen har stadig ca. 

20 % rester af den oprindelige overflade, resten

temmelig brugspræget og forsynet med kolbemagasin 

med

action with bouquet and scroll engraving. 15 

inch well-figured stock, cast off towards centre 

vision, including a 1/2 inch wooden extension. 

In it's ligthweight leather Very Compact case 

with some accessories. The gun was completed 

in 1929.

A fine French half stocked hunting gun with iron 

mounts for a lady, c. 1740. The stock is finely 

inlaid with silver wire around the butt plate and 

mother of pearl around the escutcheon. The thin 

chob of the butt has a chinrest in leather, stuffed 

with horse hair. The round lock with a brass pan 

is faintly marked MIC?? PyI?D A S?OHC?NNC? 

¿ a name not found in Stöckel. The two-stage 

barrel is c. 83 cm. long with a slender ramrod in 

wood tipped with horn and held to the barrel 

with two pipes. Beneath the barrel is a mark with 

leaves and A C (Stöckel 1825 - St. Etienne) as 

well as TORDU. With the gun is a small bayonet 

with a c. 8 cm. long blade and a zig-zag holding 

it to the barrel. The bayonet, when not in use, is 

kept in the butt behind the butt plate, covered 

by a small hinged plate. The metal is all salt and 

pepper, and the gun has seen much use as the 

carved roses behind the barrel tang and behind 

the back ramrod pipe is quite soft. The gun is 

very light and suitable for a lady of rank.

Faskinkniven model 1777 blev fremstillet af Peter 

Weidenhaupt i 1000 stk. Klingerne blev aftaget fra 

fæsterne i 1802 og lagt på depot. I 1808 blev disse 

forsynet med greb af bøgetræ og brugt af sapører til 

1816. Der findes desuden nogle få faskinknive med 

støbte messingfæster, muligvis en forsøgsmodel.

The gun was made for Mr. Terry Irwin, who was a famous 

game control officer and professional hunter. 

He shot a huge number of elephants and dispatched 

problem lions and leopards for the government. The 

27 inch barrels were especially ordered for following 

up wounded leopards.

shirasaya. The blade is 19.5 cm. long with a good 

clear wavy hamon line. With the blade goes the

scabbard is longer than the blade and has a good 

signed kozuga, decorated with golden leaves.

A Japanese TACHI with a 67 cm. long old blade 

with no visible hamon line, a shobu zukuri 

point and a clipped three holed tang with faint 

file marks and no signature. The brass tsuba 

has a large cross on both sides and the hilt is 

wrapped in brown cotton. The good scabbard 

with mounts in silver has a pleasing orange red 

colour sprinkled with gold. Blankvåbentilladelse

Samegawa covered handle with Menukis and 

an animal head kabuto-gane, Kashira in gold, a 

53.5 cm. long good blade carved with flowers 

and a bee on the side, a fine black lacquered 

scabbard made to look like bark. The scabbard 

has a signed Kozuka, a kurigata decorated with 

a golden bat and a Sayajiri in the shape of an 

elephant's head.

period c. 1660 with a 70 cm. long shinogi-zukuri 

blade. The blade with a two-hole signed tang 

and a gunome hamon with c. 95 % original 

polish. The hilt has shakodu menuki in the shape 

of dragons, fuschi-kashira in dark shibuichi with 

golden dragons and mokka formed tsuba in 

shakodu with kaga inlays in golden geometric 

patterns. The habaki and seppa is gilded. The 

scabbard with brown ishime lacquer has a kojiri

§ 1. BiddinG 

The buyer shall be the highest bidder at the “hammer price”. 

Any person bidding on behalf of a third party shall be liable 

in surety for completion of the sale. 

At the request of Bruun Rasmussen Kunstauktioner (hereinafter 

called Bruun Rasmussen), all bidders, whether they wish 

to make bids in person at the place of auction or commission 

bids by letter or fax or direct telephone bids, should be 

able to document their ability to pay and be able to provide 

proof of identity at any time. Bruun Rasmussen is entitled to 

refuse to accept a bid if, when requested, adequate security 

or adequate payment on account has not been rendered. 

Bids should be made by the bidder in person at the place 

of auction or by written commission. Telephone bidding is 

possible within certain conditions made out by Bruun Rasmussen. 

Bruun Rasmussen is not to be held responsible for 

any errors that may occur using this service. The auctioneer 

shall have absolute discretion as to the increment of the bids. 

The auctioneer will also make decisions in all cases of doubt 

regarding the bidding. 

§ 2. PaymEnt 

The purchase price is the hammer price plus 25% in buyer’s 

premium, including VAT, for lots sold subject to the special 

VAT scheme for sales of Works of Art, Collectors’ items and 

Antiques, and secondhand goods by Public Auction (hereinafter 

called Special VAT). 

Certain lots are sold in accordance with specific rules on 

normal VAT arrangement (hereinafter called normal VAT), so 

that the purchase price is the hammer price plus an additional 

20% in buyer’s premium and VAT of 25% levied on 

both the hammer price and the buyer’s premium. The lots 

subject to Full VAT are indicated as such in the catalogue 

with an asterix (*). 

Danish VAT registered buyers shall provide us with documentation 

of their SE-/CVR-number (VAT No.) as this has to be 

quoted on the invoice for goods bought at full VAT. 

For some foreign buyers, specific VAT-exemption rules apply 

(cf. Article 3). VAT-exemption does not apply to private buyers 

from the EU who are considered as Danish buyers (cf. current 

Danish legislation on Special VAT Scheme for Sales of Works 

of Art, Collectors’ items and Antiques by Public Auction). 

The purchase price falls due for payment when the goods 

have been knocked down. Payment may be made in cash 

up to DKK 100,000, by Dankort, banker’s cheque, traveller’s 

cheque, Visa-, Master-, Diners Club- or Eurocard. Personal 

foreign cheques may only be used for payment by prior 

arrangement. 

Payment may be made during or immediately after the auction. 

Under all circumstances payment must be made no 

later than eight days from the date of the invoice. 

Should the purchase price not be paid by the due date, interest 

at 1.5 % per new month will be charged. 

If the purchase price and interest are not paid within eight 

days after Bruun Rasmussen has sent its demand to the buyer, 

Bruun Rasmussen shall be entitled to rescind the sale and 

resell the goods at a Bruun Rasmussen auction or privately, 

and to demand reimbursement of any related losses from the 

defaulting buyer. Any further profit on the sale shall be payable 

to the person who had deposited the goods for sale by 

auction. 

If the defaulting buyer is entitled to proceeds from a sale 

of goods by Bruun Rasmussen, Bruun Rasmussen shall be 

entitled to set off its receivables against its payables to the 

defaulting buyer. 

If the defaulting buyer has deposited other goods for sale, 

Bruun Rasmussen shall be entitled to sell such goods at a 

Bruun Rasmussen auction without being bound by the reserve 

stipulated by the defaulting buyer. The defautling buyer shall 

not be entitled to demand the surrender of goods deposited

for sale as long as the debt payable to Bruun Rasmussen has 

not been discharged, regardless of whether the value of such 

goods may be deemed to exceed the debt payable. 

Bruun Rasmussen shall be entitled to refuse a bid made by a 

buyer who is in default in respect to his payment obligations 

to Bruun Rasmussen, as well as a bid made by a third party 

on behalf of such a defaulting buyer. Bruun Rasmussen shall 

further be entitled to demand a deposit as a condition of 

accepting any future bids from such a purchaser. 

§ 3. ExEmPtion From vat 

Foreign buyers who fulfil the conditions stated below shall 

pay 20% of the hammer price in buyer’s premium and shall 

not be subject to Danish taxes and duties: 

A. BUyERS RESIDING IN ANOTHER EU MEMBER STATE: 

Buyers are exempt from paying Danish VAT as long as 

they have provided Bruun Rasmussen with documentation 

of their VAT registration. The VAT number will then 

be quoted on Bruun Rasmussen’s invoice. 

B. BUyERS RESIDING OUTSIDE THE EU: 

1 Dispatch through forwarding agent: Lots exported 

through a forwarding agent approved by Bruun Rasmussen 

are exempt from VAT. 

2 Export as personal luggage: Goods may be exempt from 

Danish VAT when the buyer personally takes the goods 

out of the country as luggage, provided the following 

conditions have been met: 

The invoice must have been paid and the Danish duty of 

25% of the invoice amount must have been deposited 

with Bruun Rasmussen. 

a Buyers residing in Norway will be refunded the Danish 

VAT as soon as the invoice of sale has been returned to 

Bruun Rasmussen endorsed by the customs authorities of 

the country in question or by any other authority with 

jurisdiction over matters of purchase tax with respect to 

official imports of goods into the country in question if 

the purchase price exceeds DKK 1,200. 

b Buyers residing in other countries outside the EU will 

be refunded the Danish VAT after the goods have been 

presented for customs clearance in connection with the 

departure of the buyer from the EU. The exporter’s form 

should be returned to Bruun Rasmussen after being 

endorsed with the customs authorities’ export certificate 

if the purchase price exceeds DKK 300 This also applies 

to the Faroe Islands and Greenland. 

§ 4. PaymEnt oF taxEs and dutiEs 

A. Buyers with VAT-registration in other EU member states 

who do not wish to make use of Article 3 may instead 

choose to purchase items subject to Special VAT/Normal 

VAT in the same manner as private buyers. Bruun Rasmussen 

must be notified of this before 10 a.m. on the 

following auction day. 

B. Buyers with VAT-registration in Denmark may choose to 

purchase subject to Normal VAT at 25% of the hammer 

price plus premium. Bruun Rasmussen must be notified 

of this before 10 a.m. on the following auction day. 

§ 5. collEction oF PurcHasEs 

The purchase price must be paid in full before the purchased 

lot can be passed over to the buyer. From the time of the lot 

being knocked down to the buyer, until its collection, the purchased 

lot will be held at the buyer’s own expense and risk. 

A storage fee will be charged for lots which have not been 

collected within 14 days after the time of the lot being 

knocked down. Goods which have been paid for but not collected 

within 1 year will be resold at auction or privately at 

the buyer's expense. 


§ 6. disPatcH 

Should Bruun Rasmussen undertake the packaging and forwarding 

of purchased goods, this shall be done at the buyer’s 

own expense and risk. Bruun Rasmussen shall thus not 

be held liable neither for any damage caused to purchased 

goods during dispatch nor for any missing consignments. 

§ 7. droit dE suitE 

Pursuant to current Danish legislation on Copyright, an artistic 

royalty shall be collected on works of modern art by all 

Danish and some foreign artists. Bruun Rasmussen will from 

the buyer collect the royalties required on behalf of the artists’ 

organisation Copy-Dan for any work of art subject to 

this law. These works are identified in the catalogue by CD for 

Copy-Dan, marked beside each relevant lot number. 

The artistic royalty will be calculated as follows for each work 

of art, when the hammerprice exceeds DKK 1,863: 

• 5% of the part of the hammerprice ranging from DKK 0 

to DKK 310,567 plus the buyer’s premium (20% excl. 

VAT) 

• 3% of the part of the hammerprice ranging from DKK 

310,567 to DKK 1,242,267 plus the buyer’s premium 

(20% excl. VAT) 

• 1% of the part of the hammerprice ranging from DKK 

1,242,267 to DKK 2,173,967 plus the buyer’s premium 


• 0.5% of the part of the hammerprice ranging from DKK 

2,173,967 to DKK 3,105,667 plus the buyer’s premium 


• 0.25% of the part of the hammerprice lying above DKK 

3,105,667 plus the buyer’s premium (20% excl. VAT) 

The artistic royalty cannot exceed DKK 93,170 for each work 

of art. 

§ . ExPort licEncE 

Applications for an export licence must be made to the 

Danish Cultural Assets Committee when required in accordance 

with current Danish legislation on the protection and 

preservation of cultural assets in Denmark. Where such 

a licence has not been obtained, the foreign buyer will be 

informed thereof immediately after the lot has been knocked 

down to the buyer. Another application will subsequently be 

sent to the Danish Cultural Assets Committee by Bruun Rasmussen 

on behalf of the buyer, now that the price is known. 

Should an export licence not be granted, the Danish Cultural 

Assets Committee would be obliged to acquire the purchased 

lot at the purchase price, and the buyer would thus not be 

bound to the purchase. 

§ . cataloGuinG 

All lots are sold in the condition in which they are found 

when knocked down and as described in the catalogue with 

subsequently published changes and modifications. Cataloguing 

is done according to the best of Bruun Rasmussen’s 

knowledge and on the cataloguing principles stated. 

The lots auctioned are often of some age or of a kind which 

makes it possible that they may contain defects, deficiencies, 

or may have been subject to restoration or damage not 

necessarily stated in the catalogue. Catalogue pictures are for 

identification only and cannot be used for an evaluation of 

the condition of the goods. 

Any person who wishes to bid at an auction should therefore 

satisfy himself of the condition of the lots for which he 

intends to bid by personal inspection at the preview held prior 

to the auction. The catalogue description is an indication 

of the prevailing oppinion of scholars and expert at the time 

of the printing of the catalogue. If any doubts should arise 

after the purchase regarding the genuineness of the purchased 

lot or its conformance with the catalogue description, 

Bruun Rasmussen should immediately be informed thereof. 

Should the purchased lot be proved to be a forgery, or if the 

catalogue description contains material errors which lead to 

a considerably higher hammer price than that which a correct 

catalogue description would presumably result in, the

buyer shall be entitled to cancel the purchase, after which 

the buyer shall be reimbursed for the total purchase price 

paid, up till a maximum amount of the highest estimated 

price stated in the catalogue plus buyer's premium and VAT, 

when applicable. 

For material errors in the catalogue description in respect to 

measurements or weight, compensation shall only be paid on 

a percentage basis in proportion to the difference. 

The right of cancellation of a purchase in pursuance of the 

present conditions can only be exercised by the party who 

has bought the lot in question at Bruun Rasmussen and shall 

be subject to the presentation of a claim for cancellation in 

writing to Bruun Rasmussen within 2 years of the purchase 

date and to the purchased lot being returned to Bruun Rasmussen 

in the same condition in any and all respects which 

the purchased lot was in at the time of the lot being knocked 

down to the buyer. 

In the event of cancellation the buyer shall not be entitled to 

claim payment of interest on the purchase price nor shall the 

buyer be entitled to claim compensation for any other expenses 

or loss incurred, including any possible loss of profit in 

connection with reselling. 

It shall not be possible to state cancellation of a purchase in 

pursuance of the above provisions if: 

a the catalogue description on the day the lot was knocked 

down to the buyer was in accordance with the then 

generally accepted opinion of scholars and experts; 

b the only way of establishing whether the lot was a forgery 

at the time of the publication of the catalogue was 

the implementation of scientific processes, the validity of 

which was only acknowledged after the time of publication 

of the catalogue, or which would have required a 

disproportionate amount of cost, or which would have 

been impossible to carry out without damaging the lot 

in question.

be checked, if necessary. Bruun Rasmussen is not to be held 

responsible for any errors that may occur using this service.

regarded as a service for customers who are unable to make 

a personal inspection of the lots at the preview. Bruun Rasmussen 

stresses that the information given cannot be used 

as the basis for complaints; complaints can only be based on 

the catalogue text. 

ExEmPtion From vat 

Buyers shall, according to § 2, pay full VAT on lots marked 

with an asterix *. 

No Danish VAT is to be paid when VAT registered companies 

from other EU countries buy at Bruun Rasmussen 

and resell to private buyers, The private buyer then only 

has to pay VAT according to the rules in force in the 

country where the foreign company is VAT registered. For 

further information please consult your local authorities.
