v) For exposed cement concrete (plain/reinforced) surfaces, only
surface which are finally required to be maintained exposed as
per Architectural drawings shall be measured and paid for.
However, if one side of a concrete member is partly exposed and
partly unexposed then the whole side will be treated as exposed.
Rate quoted for this item shall be deemed to account for extra
care required for making better shuttering for other unexposed
concrete surfaces contiguous to surfaces required to be kept
exposed.
w) Groves shall be made as per drawing and design or as per
Architect’s instructions in RCC member without any extra
payment. No deduction will be made on concrete quantities for
making such grooves. No extra payment shall also be made.
x) Nothing extra shall be paid on any account for rounding off
corners and ends of concrete members or for making throating
or chamfering or edges where required unless otherwise
specifically included as in item for RCC and shuttering work in
the schedule.
y) Starter column of 100mm in height shall be cast with 12mm
(Maximum size) aggregate and 20% extra cement. No extra
payment for casting of starter column will be made.
z) The rate for PCC/RCC concrete work should also include cost of
procurement and use of plasticizers as approved by Engineer,
for achieving desired workability with w/c ratio and minimum
cement content, slump etc., parameters specified in tender
specifications of relevant items of works and taking into account
of retardation of setting time if needed to avoid cold joints in
superstructure elements.
