1.9 MATERIALS
1.9.1 General
reconstructed to comply with the specifications, or other remedial
measures shall be taken to make works secure to the satisfaction
of the Engineer. The contractor shall take down, or cut out and
reconstruct the defective work or shall take the remedial
measured instructed at his own cost.
All the materials shall conform to the specifications for Roads and
Bridges Works of the MORT&H (Ministry of Road Transport and
Highway – Road Wing) and to the IRC/IS stipulations in that order. All
standards stipulated shall be the latest revisions.
1.9.2 Source of Materials :
It shall be responsibility of the Contractor to procure all the materials
required for construction and completion of the contract. The
contractor shall indicate in writing the source of materials well in
advance to the Engineer, after the award of the work and before
commencing the work. If the material from any source is found to be
unacceptable at any time, it shall be rejected by the Engineer and the
contractor shall forthwith remove the material from the site as directed
by the Engineer.
1.9.3 Inspection & Acceptance of Materials :
Final inspection and acceptance of materials shall be made only at the
site of work. The Engineer or his representative reserves the right to
sample, inspect and test materials throughout the duration of the
contract and to reject any material found to be unsatisfactory.
