marketing standards
Freshfel Europe has showed its disagreement
with European Comission approaching to the
fruits and vegetables marketing standards.
Last 12 th of November the Comission announced
the reduction of the UE rules and cut
red tape. Philippe Binard, General Delegate of
bring disadvantages in the supply chain and
lead consumers to confusion about the quality
Peru opens up Asian market
During the first quarter of 2009, Japan should
remove the plant health barriers to importing
Peruvian mangoes. These measures are
essentially intended to prevent the spread
of fruit fly. The Peruvian Mango Exporters’
Association (APEM) said that Japan is considered
a very attractive market where very high
prices can be fetched. Peru has also begun
to open up several other new markets for its
fruit exports, in particular achieving access to
the Chinese market for its citrus fruits, which
have joined table grapes and mangoes on the
list of Peruvian fruit exported to China.
