By now you have most likely received information
from the Guild about the Board’ proposed changes and
updates of our by-laws. I hope that you will have a chance to
look over the proposals. Please feel welcome to come to the
March 13th Board meeting, when we plan to discuss and adopt
changes. You’re always welcome at Board meetings, which are
held in the Olive Hyde Art Center Mission Room at 10 a.m. on
the second Wednesday of each month, except in July and
December.
As I write this, I’m looking forward to seeing the
Women’s Figurative Art show at the Art Gallery on Feb. 15th.
I’ve just seen information about each of the artists in the
show and I’m truly intrigued to see their creations. If you are
not able to see this show, remember that Jurek Zarzycki,
the Guild’s historian, always does a wonderful job of
photographing each exhibit and putting photos on the Guild’s
website for all of us to enjoy.
Nancy Ruskin, Mary Stephens, and Gail Blalock
have agreed to work together as a Nominating Committee to
fill positions for Board Members and Committee Chairs for
the 2013-2014 year. Many of the positions could be shared,
so even if you are not ready to be a chair person, please let
me know if you’d consider helping the Guild is some way in the
next year. I’ll happily let you know what work any position is
responsible to do, and if you wish, I’ll pass on your interest to
the Nominating Committee. You can contact me by email or
phone - 510-796-7308 or jttuna@comcast.net.
Jean Toonen, President OHAG

Many thanks to those who helped on the decorations
committee. For help making table decorations: Emi Tabuchi
and Alex Donnolley, and special kudos to Caroline Hedgecock
whose talent on the ladder was the reason for those high-flown
angels on the ramparts! Thanks to Dolores Buggy who always
heads the ribbon & bow team, Evelyn Phelps and all the other
women who helped spiff up the food court. Thanks to Toby
Gross for window dressing! Heartfelt thanks as I could not have
done it without you.
