as one means of reducing levels of pollution

biggest problem facing the city

• Malmö is clearly a good place to live
• Good quality housing stock - being continually
enhanced
• Activities in place to encourage local involvement
in environmental issues
but
• The way the city operates may not always act to
encourage local activists to act as a counterbalance

Key Recommendations
• Keep innovating and experimenting
• Ensure that you have comprehensive information on
what the public think about what you are doing and what
they want
• Corporate, shared data-sets with GIS would enhance
decision making
• Embrace a systems approach to environmental & quality
management
• Find more ways of letting other people take the lead
• Councillors to make a more visible impact on the agenda
• Develop more partnerships based on mutual gain rather
than legal contracts
