FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Thank you so much for coming to conferences in March! I
know you could tell from your time with your child’s
teacher… Great things keep happening at Clinton! Kids
are learning more than ever before, and are showing their
stuff on our district tests! Compared with this time last year,
9% more of our students are proficient in Language Arts,
and 16% more are proficient in Math. That’s more improvement
than any other elementary school GGUSD. Now
that's something to be proud of!! Hat’s off to our teachers,
our students, and our parents. Congratulations!!!

Welcome Miss Hanna
& Mrs. Rivera
Let’s give a big COUGAR welcome
to Miss Rita Hanna and Mrs.
Erin Rivera! We knew when she
opened our Preppy K class in
early February that Miss Hanna
would be with us for just a short
time until Mrs. Rivera joined our
staff as our permanent Preppy-K
teacher. In late March, Mrs.
Rivera came to us with a great
deal of successful experience in
the primary elementary grades.
And, we were very excited to
welcome Miss Hanna to finish the
year in Mrs. Viestenz’s fourth
grade class. Cheers all around
for these two outstanding new
additions to Team Clinton!
COLLEGE TRIP FOR
PARENTS!

A free tour of the University of California,
Irvine has been arranged for our parents &
students. The graduates of our 10 Education
Commandments get first dibs on the
bus ride, but there may be extras seats.
Or, you can drive to UCI and meet us there
to participate in the tour. Call our school
office for more information. Then, head
over to Buena Clinton for more information
about resources for getting your child to
college!

Mrs. Viestenz
After dedicating 42 years
to the children and families
of GGUSD, Mrs. Viestenz
decided to retire on March
30th. Following 7 years as
an instructional aide, Mrs.
Viestenz earned a teaching
credential and spent the next 35 years
teaching. In addition to teaching elementary
age children, she also taught students in the
teen-mother program. She has been part of
the Clinton team for 15 years, and reached
her personal goal of making a real difference
in the lives of countless kids & families.
We salute you, Mrs. Viestenz, and thank you
for your dedication over the years. We wish
you every happiness in your retirement!
