Suggested Checklist for Tank Truck Unloading
Receiver Activities
If the receiver participates in unloading:
10 Put on personal protective equipment:
____ chemical goggles and/or full-face shield.
____ chemical gloves, impervious to MDI*.
____ long-sleeve coveralls or full body suit,
impervious to MDI*.
____ fitted boots made of material(s)
impervious to MDI*.
____ head protection, such as a close fitting
hood, made of material impervious to MDI*.
11 ____ Make sure that all valves in receiving
system are fully closed.
13A ____ Take sample to laboratory if required.
13B ____ Inspect the hose and gaskets prior to
connection.
14A ____ Connect the unloading hose to the
storage facility.
15A ____ Record start level in storage tank.
15B ____ Sign the drivers Bill of Lading that a good
hook up has been made.
16 ____ If the product conforms to specification,
start the unloading procedure.
17 ____ Check driver’s action.

fully closed.
12 ____ Take sample if required (not recommended).
13A ____ Inspect the hose, fittings, and gaskets
prior to connection.
14A ____ When required by the customer, the driver
may connect the unloading hose providing
the customer signs the statement on the
carriers Bill of Lading mentioned in
appendix 1, part A, pg 1-1.
14B ____ Assist receiver and connect hose to
tank truck.
15B ____ Ensure the customer has signed the
carrier Bill of Lading indicating a good
hook up has been made.
For Pump Discharge Only:
18A ____ Install the vapor return line connection to
the vehicle.
