Golf Tournament
The Eglin Golf Course Fall Stableford
will be held on Sep. 12, shotgun start
at 7:30 a.m. Cost is $20 per player,
cart and green fees not included.
Contestants must have an established
GHIN handicap to participate. This

Link Up 2 Golf
The AF Link Up 2 Golf program is an
affordable way for adult beginners to
receive proper instruction from PGA
professionals. Cost is $49 for three

cover golf etiquette and all aspects of
the golf swing and short game. Plenty

New Tee Time System
The Eglin Golf Course has a new
Tee Time System offering customers
the ability to schedule their tee times
online. To register for this convenient
new service, go to this web address:

follow the instructions given. (Valid

Once registered, golfers will be able
to make tee times 3 days in advance.
For active duty, dues payers, and DoD,

Hands-On Boater
Safety Course
Every Saturday, 9-11 a.m., a Hands-
On Boater Safety Course is offered at
and skills needed to operate ski and
pontoon boats. All training materials
and equipment are provided. Boater
Safety Cards are issued to participants
upon completion. Cost is $25 per
person. Registration is required 24
hours in advance. Class size is limited
to 8 students. Walk-ins are welcome if

PCS FamCamp
Reservations
Are you making a PCS move? If so,
Eglin’s Family Campgrounds will
accept space reservations up to 30
days prior to your planned stay. Offer
is available to military and civilians
on PCS orders. When making a
reservation, bring a copy of your
orders, or fax a copy to 883-1242.
PCS spaces are limited. Eglin’s
FamCamps at Postl Point and Camp
Robbins offer RV spaces, tent sites,
and fully equipped RV lodging at low
nightly, weekly, even monthly rates.

Eglin Beach Park
The Eglin Beach Park, located on
Okaloosa Island at the foot of the
Destin Bridge, is open to all base
personnel and their guests, 9 a.m.-8
p.m. daily through Sep. 7, then 10
a.m.-5 p.m. until Nov. 1. Admission
fee is $2 per vehicle. The park features
direct access to the Gulf with 4 large
pavilions, central deck area and two
sets of restrooms with showers. One
pavilion is available for reservations
by contacting Outdoor Recreation.
Reservation fee is $200 with a $50

Eglin Yacht Club & Dive Flight
The Eglin Dive Flight conducts
PADI SCUBA classes for all
levels, beginner to Divemaster.

Orientation Classes
Need a second household income?
Become a Family Child Care provider

Orientation classes are scheduled for Oct.
2009 and Jan. 2010. Persons interested
in providing care for children in their

The Family Child Care office is seeking individuals living in the surrounding
communities to become licensed affiliated child care providers. Affiliated
providers must be spouses of a military ID card holder (active or retired)

an affiliated certificate from the Eglin Mission Support Group Commander.

Battle B of the Brains
The Eglin Library is looking for the smartest
squadron on base! Does your squadron have
what it takes? Sign up now for the Library's
annual Battle of the Brains on Sep. 30 starting
at 8 a.m. A contestant from each squadron
will compete in an Internet Scavenger Hunt.
There are 22 seats available on a first come
basis. Contestants must be nominated by their
First Sergeant and have their name submitted
to the Library by Sep. 24. The winning squadron on
wins bragging rights for one year and a fun trophy, plus a $150 AAFES gift
card for their booster club and a gift certificate for the competing individual.

Intro to the Internet & Social Networks
Every Wednesday at 6 p.m., the Eglin Base Library offers Internet Intro
for adults who are new to the internet and would like to get hands-on
instruction. Then on Thursdays at 6 p.m., an intro to Social Networks can
teach adults about social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace.

Rosetta Stone Lab Now Open
The Base Library now houses a Foreign Language Lab featuring the
Rosetta Stone Foreign Language Network. Three languages are currently
offered – Spanish, Italian, and German. Customers may check out headsets

Community College of the Air Force Graduation
The CCAF graduation is slated for Thursday, Oct. 1 at 9:30 a.m. at the
Northwest Florida State College Fine Arts Center at the Niceville campus.
Everyone who would like to attend is invited and asked to be in place at least 15
minutes prior to starting time. Graduates are asked to arrive by 8:30 a.m. for a
group photo to be taken prior to the ceremony. Active duty graduates are asked
to be in Service Dress or a Dress Pants Suit if you are now civilian. Active duty
