Golf Tournament<br />

The <strong>Eglin</strong> Golf Course Fall Stableford<br />

will be held on Sep. 12, shotgun start<br />

at 7:30 a.m. Cost is $20 per player,<br />

The AF Link Up 2 Golf program is an<br />

the ability to schedule their tee times<br />

Hands-On Boater<br />

Safety Course<br />

Every Saturday, 9-11 a.m., a Hands-<br />

On Boater Safety Course is offered at<br />

<br />

and skills needed to operate ski and<br />

pontoon boats. All training materials<br />

and equipment are provided. Boater<br />

Safety Cards are issued to participants<br />

upon completion. Cost is $25 per<br />

person. Registration is required 24<br />

hours in advance. Class size is limited<br />

The <strong>Eglin</strong> Beach Park, located on<br />

Okaloosa Island at the foot of the<br />

a.m.-5 p.m. until Nov. 1. Admission<br />

fee is $2 per vehicle. The park features<br />

direct access to the Gulf with 4 large<br />

Battle B of the Brains<br />

The <strong>Eglin</strong> Library is looking for the smartest<br />

squadron on base! Does your squadron have<br />

what it takes? Sign up now for the Library's<br />

annual Battle of the Brains on Sep. 30 starting<br />

at 8 a.m. A contestant from each squadron<br />

will compete in an Internet Scavenger Hunt.<br />

There are 22 seats available on a first come<br />

basis. Contestants must be nominated by their<br />

First Sergeant and have their name submitted<br />

to the Library by Sep. 24. The winning squadron on<br />

wins bragging rights for one year and a fun trophy, plus a $150 AAFES gift<br />

card for their booster club and a gift certificate for the competing individual.<br />

Intro to the Internet & Social Networks<br />

Every Wednesday at 6 p.m., the <strong>Eglin</strong> Base Library offers Internet Intro<br />

for adults who are new to the internet and would like to get hands-on<br />

instruction. Then on Thursdays at 6 p.m., an intro to Social Networks can<br />

teach adults about social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace.<br />

Rosetta Stone Lab Now Open<br />

The Base Library now houses a Foreign Language Lab featuring the<br />

Rosetta Stone Foreign Language Network. Three languages are currently<br />

offered – Spanish, Italian, and German. Customers may check out headsets<br />

from the Library staff and receive instructions on how to get started. For<br />

Community College of the Air <strong>Force</strong> Graduation<br />

The CCAF graduation is slated for Thursday, Oct. 1 at 9:30 a.m. at the<br />

Northwest Florida State College Fine Arts Center at the Niceville campus.<br />

Everyone who would like to attend is invited and asked to be in place at least 15<br />

minutes prior to starting time. Graduates are asked to arrive by 8:30 a.m. for a<br />

group photo to be taken prior to the ceremony. Active duty graduates are asked<br />

to be in Service Dress or a Dress Pants Suit if you are now civilian. Active duty<br />
