Introduction:
Victor Segalen Bordeaux 2 University is a public center for education. It is the association of
the medicine and pharmacy faculties, with other scientific disciplines and human sciences
which collectively form a fully interdisciplinary institution. The human sciences department,
including 4 branches : social anthropology and ethnology, psychology, educational sciences,
sociology.

Fields of Study:
The Department of Psychology at the UvBordeaux 2 has 2500 students and offers seven fields of
specialization: Social Psychology, Work and Organisational Psychology, Clinical and Pathological
Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Health Psychology,
Gerontological Psychology
Possibilities:
Visiting students can come for one semester or for a full academic year. They can take courses or
participate in a Research Project. Doing both is also possible.

Credit system:
The UvBx2 uses a credit system based on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). In this
system, an academic year consists of 60 European Credits, each worth 20 hours of study (courses
and personal work). Students are expected to take courses that add up to a fulltime workload of 30
EC credits per semester.
Housing:
Students, in relation with the CROUS (Centre Régional des Oeuvres Universitaires et Sociales)
www.crous-bordeaux.fr can have a student room. But, it’s not guaranteed. Together with the
application form for the Erasmus exchange, your students will find the request form for housing.
Budget:
During your stay in Bordeaux you can expect to spend between € 600 and € 800 per month on
living expenses. This does not include tuition fees.
Visum:
Only students from countries other than the European Union member states must apply for a visa,
please contact the French embassy in your own country.
