Introduction:<br />

Victor Segalen Bordeaux 2 University is a public center for education. It is the association of<br />

the medicine and pharmacy faculties, with other scientific disciplines and human sciences<br />

which collectively form a fully interdisciplinary institution. The human sciences department,<br />

including 4 branches : social anthropology and ethnology, psychology, educational sciences,<br />

sociology.<br />

Fields of Study:<br />

The Department of Psychology at the UvBordeaux 2 has 2500 students and offers seven fields of<br />

specialization: Social Psychology, Work and Organisational Psychology, Clinical and Pathological<br />

Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Health Psychology,<br />

Gerontological Psychology<br />

Possibilities:<br />

Visiting students can come for one semester or for a full academic year. They can take courses or<br />

participate in a Research Project. Doing both is also possible.<br />

Credit system:<br />

The UvBx2 uses a credit system based on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). In this<br />

system, an academic year consists of 60 European Credits, each worth 20 hours of study (courses<br />

and personal work). Students are expected to take courses that add up to a fulltime workload of 30<br />

EC credits per semester.<br />

Housing:<br />

Students, in relation with the CROUS (Centre Régional des Oeuvres Universitaires et Sociales)<br />

www.crous-bordeaux.fr can have a student room. But, it’s not guaranteed. Together with the<br />

application form for the Erasmus exchange, your students will find the request form for housing.<br />

Budget:<br />

During your stay in Bordeaux you can expect to spend between € 600 and € 800 per month on<br />

living expenses. This does not include tuition fees.<br />

Visum:<br />

Only students from countries other than the European Union member states must apply for a visa,<br />

please contact the French embassy in your own country.<br />
