• Visitors who repeatedly disregard cafeteria expectations may
lose the privilege of coming to the lunchroom.
• Parents are not allowed to remove their children from the
cafeteria for any reason without permission from a staff member
on duty in the cafeteria. A parent wishing to check out their child
must do this through the front office.
• Due to privacy issues outlined in FERPA, no photos/videos with
cell phones or other electronic devices or cameras are allowed in
the cafeteria per GKC ( REGULATION)
• Strollers create a safety issue in a crowded cafeteria. Designated
stroller parking may be established on the campus. If so,
strollers are to be parked in this area during lunch.
Personal Food in the Cafeteria, Restricted Foods:
Students are allowed to bring their own lunch or breakfast.
However, students and parents are not allowed to bring food to
share with other students as per the Texas Public School Nutrition
Policy (TPSNP). Student access to foods of minimal nutritional value
(FMNV) and foods from outside sources which compete with the
cafeteria services are restricted per the TPSNP.
The Texas Department of Agriculture Nutrition policy may be found
at www.squaremeals.com. Campuses may not serve or provide
access for students to foods of minimal nutritional value (FMNV) and
all other forms of candy at anytime, anywhere, on school premises
until after the end of the last scheduled class. FMNV may not be sold
or given away to students on school premises by school staff,
students, student groups, parents, or parent groups, or guest
speakers, or any other person, company, or organization. [See

Cafeteria Manners and Expectations:
Students are expected to exhibit good manners and courtesy
dictated by home and society. In the classroom, cafeteria and all
areas of the school. Staff on duty in the cafeteria will send a note to
the parent if a child has experienced difficulty with behavior in the
