FOUR GRASS VALLEY STAFF TO RETIRE

Share a Memory, Join the Party

Grass Valley has four long-time educators retiring at the end of this school year: Patricia Erdmann,

principal; Dottie Chadwick, reading specialist; Christine Young, kindergarten teacher; and Ricca

Johnson, 3 rd grade teacher. They will certainly be missed! Here are a few ways you can help say goodbye:

SHARE A MEMORY – Memory Boxes are being made for each of these wonderful women, so stop

by the office and write down or submit your fond thoughts, well-wishes and photos. Photos can also

be submitted to Erin Linton at erin.linton@camas.wednet.edu.

JOIN THE PARTY – On Wed. June 12, there will be an adults-only party at Grass Valley starting at

3:45 (Sorry, due to the volume of attendees, no babysitting will be provided).

SUMMER GARDENERS NEEDED

We are in need of a few more

families to help maintain our school

garden during the summer months.

Bi-weekly weeding and pruning

would be most helpful. If you are

able to adopt a plot, please contact:

Angela Heaston at

heastoncrew@comcast.net.

Thank you to all the families in the

past and to those who will continue

to help keep our school garden

looking awesome!

Dear Grass Valley Families,

On behalf of the entire 2012-13

PTA Board and my awesome copresident,

Danielle Marshall, I’d

like to say THANK YOU for another

wonderful year of creating

memories and supporting our

zebra students and staff in teaching

and learning! Together, we

truly achieve amazing things.

Please consider volunteering with

the PTA during the 2013-14 school

year. Every ounce of help makes

an enormous difference!

Sincerely,

Alicia Brazington

PTA co-president

Many field trips are occurring these

last few weeks of the school year.

Fourth graders went canoeing at the

Ridgefield Marina and fifth graders

attended a Timbers soccer game!

The Grass valley Vocal Jazz wrapped

up their season with a fun concert

which included Jazz Musician Patrick

Lamb. Many kids improvised with

Patrick with their scat singing! To

watch the concert on YouTube, click HERE.
