The Koperasi Pedagang Kopi <strong>Ketiara</strong> <strong>Cooperative</strong> has over 890 growers<br />
that tend to over 830 hectares of land. Rahmah, the chairwoman of the<br />
<strong>Ketiara</strong> <strong>Cooperative</strong>, has been running and maintaining the coffee business<br />
of her family. Her father began work in the coffee industry more than 20<br />
years ago--locally trading coffee and supplying most of the exporters in<br />
Medan, the capital of North <strong>Sumatra</strong>. Two years ago, Rahmah established<br />
the <strong>Ketiara</strong> <strong>Cooperative</strong> to help organize the farmers. The cooperative has<br />
also created programs for women’s health and educational courses.<br />
