“Symmetry and Beauty”<br />

“Symmetry and Beauty” by Edward Yashin, an artist that is also an architect and<br />
that profession informs his work. A master of technique when representing buildings,<br />
he also takes liberties to enhance their lines with the illusion of scaffolding<br />
surrounding their perimeters, punctuating their symmetry and beauty. Light and<br />
shade create dramatic effects and communicate the feel and sense of the city the<br />
building is placed within. Mysterious figures appear in windows and doorways,<br />
dressed for a night of intrigue or whatever meaning the viewer transfers onto their<br />
personage. A very rare opportunity to see the work of an artist who lives and works<br />
in the Ukraine. The exhibition is on view from June 7th through June 30th, with<br />

Color and Line in Motion: Paintings and Sculpture<br />

On exhibition are Frederick Wardy’s abstract expressionist gouache on paper<br />
and acrylic on canvas works. These consist of gestural and painterly strokes and<br />
thinner gestural lines. The works radiate strong color, often with the substantial use<br />
of primaries. Sometimes the colors interact harmoniously; sometimes there is disharmony.<br />

The Marina Gallery is pleased to announce “The Spirit of Color” an exhibition<br />
of exciting new works by Martee Levi. In her work, Martee explores the infinite<br />
variety of form and color in surprising and exuberant combinations. Her works<br />
have been exhibited in galleries, museums, and universities, both in the United<br />
Sates and in Europe. “The Spirit of Color” opens with a reception with the artist on<br />
Friday, June 7th, from 6 to 8 pm. The exhibition is on view from June 7th through<br />
June 30th at the Marina Gallery located at 153 Main St. in Cold Spring, NY. For<br />
