The microphone array for the WCS-1 system is built in to the helmet in
such a way as to be invisible, and uses a digital signal processor (DSP).
This effectively suppresses ambient and wind noise, preventing them
from being transmitted to the other helmet. Even at high speeds,
rider and passenger can maintain excellent communication.

the sound quality sets a new standard for wireless communication.

Want to turn the sound down? Or up a little? Groping for Þ ddly buttons
in awkward places while you’re out riding is not just annoying, it’s also
dangerous. The BMW Motorrad WCS-1 is simple to use, even when
wearing gloves. A Þ lm keypad incorporating a multi-function switch
(which also serves as an on/off switch) placed on the left hand side of the
helmet, plus two buttons to adjust the volume, makes life much easier.

The WCS-1 is the perfect travel companion when riding by yourself. Even without
a passenger, there’s no reason to feel lonely. Riders can use their Bluetooth mobile
phone to make calls, listen to their favourite songs on the MP3 player via the optional
on-board unit* or listen to voice directions from the BMW Motorrad Navigator.
