What is HopeCare?
HopeCare is simply the people of Hope Lutheran caring for one
another and caring for our neighbors. We do this through several
ministries: Stephen Ministry, Health Ministry, DivorceCare, Grief
Share and about 17 more ministries. Each ministry is different
and a wonderful way to encourage people to know the love of
Jesus Christ. A couple that are starting up this fall are highlighted
below.
HopeCare is about using our God-given gifts to build His kingdom.
HopeCare is each and every one of us using what we have first
been given; ourselves, our time, and our treasure to love one
another as He first loved us.
GriefShare begins September 26, North Campus. If you’ve lost
a spouse, child, family member or friend, it may be hard for you
to feel optimistic about the future right now. You’ve probably
found that there are not many people who understand the deep
hurt you feel. That’s the reason for GriefShare, a special seminar
and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close.
This group is sponsored by people who understand what you are
experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement
during this difficult time.
GriefShare starts Monday, September 26 for 14 weeks 6:30-
8:30pm at the North Campus, and includes “Surviving the
Holidays.” Materials are $15. Sign up by calling the Ann, 235-6629,

DivorceCare—Watch for this ministry to begin in the fall. Topics
of discussion include: What’s Happening to Me? The Road to
Healing, Facing My Anger, Facing My Depression, Facing My
Loneliness, Financial Survival, Forgiveness, Moving On, Growing
Closer to God. Details to follow.

You Can Give, Give, Give!
There are many ways to give through HopeCare!
1. Stuff the Truck at HopeFest!
Bring furniture, linens and household items to stuff the Truck with
new or “gently used” things. Questions? Call the Church Office,
235-6629. Donations will be taken to local homeless shelters.
2. Collection Box
Crayola washable markers, yarn, scrap envelopes, paper, egg
cartons, diapers, Kleenex, baby wipes and little plastic baskets
(used for fruit in the grocery store). Items to be donated to
Nokomis.
3. Contribute to Recovery Efforts of Schools in Minot
Here is a simple way for everyone to contribute to the recovery
efforts of schools in Minot that were lost or damaged due to the
flood.
Box tops: Box tops for education is a program that will give 10
cents for every box top that is sent in, and the check is
mailed directly to the school.
Campbell’s Soup Labels: This is a point system that allows the
school to pick thru a catalog of school supplies.
Land O’Lakes caps with the Save Five for Schools stickers
donates 5 cents for every cap which is mailed directly to
the school.
Our Family UPC codes from OUR FAMILY brand products. For
each UPC, schools receive 5 cents.
Sunmart receipts: A portion of the total amount goes directly
to the school.
Donation containers are available at both campuses. Please
continue to save until August 25.
Do You Love to Go to Rummage Sales?
This is the ministry for you! We need gently used receiving
blankets, full size sheets, bath towels and wash cloths, newborn
stocking caps, small baby shirts and onesies for our midwife baby
kits for Africa. Rummage sales are a perfect place to find these
