CISCO OPTICAL

Optical Training behandlar transmission via fiber. Våra instuktörer utbildar

branschens samtliga användare både via Ciscos lab i Texas och Italien (Monza)

och via våra egna remote labs.

Optical Technology Fundamentals (OTF) Duration 3 days Price 16.900 SEK

The course enables the students to learn the basics of light and fiber

optics and to distinguish between different fiber types. The students

become familiar with building blocks of optical transmission systems

and learn the linear and non-linear effects. The course includes an

overview of Synchronous Optical Network / Synchronous Digital Hierarchy

(SONET/SDH) standards, framing, protection, timing and ser-

vices, Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems and

their design. This course teaches the knowledge and skills needed to

describe technology features used in designing and implementing

optical networks. Prerequisite: The Student should have CCNA certification

or equivalent knowledge. Good networking foundation and

basic knowledge in physics is helpful but not a must.

Cisco Transport Manager Operation & Maintenance (OCTMO) Duration 2 days Price 16.900 SEK

The course enables the student to use the CTM network management

system to manage a variety of Cisco optical networking products

from the Cisco 15000 family. Working in small groups of up to three

people per node, students complete a wide range of tasks covering

many features and functions. They start with the installation procedures,

followed by the user administration. The focus of the course is

on the element management, covering the inventory, configuration,

performance, security and fault management, including reporting.

The course concludes with system administration and troubleshooting

discussion. Prerequisite: The Student should have experience in

the provisioning and operation of DWDM or optical transport

Cisco ONS 15454 SDH Turn Up, Test, Provisioning & Operation (OSTPO) Duration 3 days Price 26.900 SEK

The course provides instructor-led training that enables the student

to learn how to operate the ONS 15454 SDH through classroom

instruction and hands-on training on an ONS 15454 SDH system.

Working in small groups of up to three people per node, students

complete a wide range of tasks covering many system features and

functions. Lab exercises rely on the ONS 15454 SDH user documentation

for references to specific procedures. Each student has the

opportunity to participate in every lab. Open lab periods provide

equipment, including the following basic SONET or SDH knowledge:

Payload and overhead, Topologies, and Protection. It is also recommended

that the Student have attended OSTPO.

students with opportunities to work with the ONS 15454 SDH

system in an unstructured environment. Activities in the open lab

are self-directed, but the instructor is available to answer questions

and offer guidance. Prerequisite: The Student should have experience

of SONET/SDH including SONET/SDH payload and overhead,

recommended basic digital telephony prerequisites, architecture and

framing, SONET/SDH architecture, concatenation of basic Ethernet

concepts and basic dense wavelength division multiplexing.
