Dedication
This year we are dedicating the yearbook to the group of people
that have such a tremendous influence on us as students, the fac
ulty. Through all of the financial difficulties that MVC is facing the
endured a much heavier
faculty remains dedicated. This year, they
work load than previous years
in order to sustain the school and
keep it a free standing institution. The students are extremely fortu
nate to be taught by professors of such high quality. Through the
years they have not only been our teachers, they
mentors and our friends. The faculty members perform
beyond what their duty dictates. They always
have been our
above and
make time in their
busy schedules to give extra help or advice. The professors provide
the students with a warm, caring environment in which to develop
ideas and grow both intellectually as well as spiritually. The tre
mendous level of excellence sustained by the faculty makes at
tending college a fulfilling and inspiring experience for us all.
Therefore, the students would like to extend our profound appre
ciation to the faculty for your infinite devotion, your time, and
above all for sharing with us your knowledge, and always giving us
your care and concern. Thank you.

Dr. Geiselman, whose appointment as
president of Mount Vemon College was an
nounced June 1 by the Board of Trustees,
comes to Mount Vemon from the California
Institute of Arts in Valencia where she
served as vice president for planning and
advancement since 1989.
The President
Dr Geiselman's professional background is
in higher education and management as
well as in instihjtional relations and fund-
raising. At CalArts, for example, she
planned and established an institutional re
lations program that brought both re
sources and leadership to the institution.
From 1985-1989, Dr. Geiselman was vice
president
the Eisenhower Medical Center in Los An
for institutional advancement at
geles. There, she was responsible for fundraising
and active in institutional strategic
planning. "The whole campus is delighted
by Dr. Geiselman's appointment as presi
dent, and we look forward to working with
her," says Board Chairman Ann Oliver (S
'63). "Her energy and vision for con
temporary women's education will provide
the forward momentum and leadership that
Mount Vernon needs to turn the challenges
of the new decade into opportunities and
growth."
