True luxuries.
Quality of life.
White sandy beaches for miles and miles. Wide open sky.
Medieval towns with narrow cobbled streets. Picturesque fishing villages line the coast. A seawashed
landscape. A patchwork of fields and forests.
Waving fields. Rolling hills. Winding roads.
Translucent forest. Fragrant meadows.
Pastoral. Unspoilt. No traffic jams. No crowds. Yet bubbling with life, initiative and
energy. Less than one and a half hours drive from major world cities, such as
wonderful Copenhagen. International airport. Shopping malls. Hectic city life.
Within reach. When, and if, you need it.
A relaxing lifestyle. A tranquil retreat from the mundane world.
Nordic colours reflecting nature´s moods.
Sapphire blue Baltic sea. Seashells and amber on ivory white shores.
Artists found this peaceful corner of the world more than a hundred years ago.
When Paul Cezanne captured Mediterranean pinetrees on canvas,
the Nordic Impressionists painted the shimmering light of Österlen,
a rural province situated on the southernmost tip of Sweden.
Art and culture.
Apple orchards.
Even vineyards,
producing
decent wines.
The region is famed for its
gastronomy
and strong culinary
heritage. Local produce.
Seasonal variety.
Excellent quality.
Aspargus, freshly picked.
Smoked herring,
a delicacy to be eaten
straight from the oven.
Mushrooms and berries
from nearby forests.
An abundance of
fruit and vegetables,
rich in flavour. Local
restaurants, bakerys and
food markets please the
most demanding gourmet.
A Swedish
smorgasbord,
indeed.
Just like the
landscape itself.
Smiling landscape. Friendly people. A different way of life.
The climate is probably the best in Scandinavia. Not as bitterly cold as further north.
Not as unbearably hot as in southern Europe. Not as rainy as in Britain.
Some say the province remind them of Tuscany. Others call it “the Provence of Scandinavia”.
And some people compare it to New England.
It´s there for you to discover. Some cosmopolitans already did.
A large countryhouse in sympathy with its surroundings.
A traditional southswedish farm in an idyllic setting, facing open farmlands.Touched by the sunlight
from dusk to dawn. Lovingly restored with respect for tradition and love of the countryside.
Whitewashed walls. Terracotta tiled roofs.
Pleasing proportions. Simple and sophisticated.
The former barn has been beautifully transformed into a grand house.
It´s tempting to use the word “manor house”, even though, nowadays, there´s no land belonging to
the farm. And the former main house is now a comfortable guesthouse.
Bold design. Artistic creativity. Craftsmanship. Good, sturdy materials.
Contemporary in style. Firmly rooted in past traditions.
A timeless quality. Humble elegance.
Modern sophistication
meets the earthiness of
the countryside.
Inside, the atmosphere is warm
and intimate. Comfortable and
delightfully unpretentious. Spare
but not spartan. High in finish and
durability. Authentic in spirit. The
decorative is skilfully blended with
the functional. And everything is
on a generous scale.
Lightfilled interior.
Effortless grace.
A livingroom in a grand manner.
Nevertheless with a relaxed, lived-in feel.
The large, yet intimate room, is the heart of
the main house, serving as both drawingroom
and a room for the pleasant business of eating.
Gleaming lustre. Silver. China. Chandeliers.
Painted floorboards and plenty of uncluttered space give an air of cleanliness,
emphasizing the quality of light. French doors face the sunny patio. Light streams in
from numerous windows. The slate fireplace and the whitewashed beams
gives an informal touch to an otherwise imposing room.
Natural flair.
Hearty ambience.
A well equipped country style kitchen with a rustic feel.
Besides being a cosy
lounge and breakfast
room, it´s also an
entrance hall with
plenty of space for
gum boots and muddy
paws.
AGA. Worktops in oak and
stone. Soft, pale colours.
Hand-picked details
reminding of the stable
it once was.
High ceilings.
Light flooding
through lofty
windows.
A handmade
staircase with
ornated balusters
leads to the
bright and airy
sittingroom.
Upstairs you´ll also
find the master bedroom
with a Tudorstyle
fireplace.
The bathroom,
big enough to
furnish. Another
bedroom and
a nursery.
The old teddybear
and the rockinghorse
have
already moved in.
But the room could
easily be turned
into a study –
perhaps with a
masculine feel?
Calm.
Composed.
Easy to live with.
A romantic
corner bathing
in light.
A separate house
for guest.
Two spacious
self-contained
apartments.
Fireplaces.
A large shady porch.
A small in-door
conservatory facing
the rosegarden.
Rosebuds right outside
the windows.
The fragrance fills
the rooms.
Apple season.
The mellowness of autumn colours.
A driveway flanked with old birchtrees.
A patio drenched with sun.
The square shaped ponds reflect the clouds in the sky.
An open courtyard with a shady porch.
A lush, mature garden.
Velvety lawns. Tall hedges. Walnut tree.
Well-trimmed box surrounds the delicate roses.
A walk on the beach.
Stormy weather.
A toasty fire.
A pair of old slippers.
The house and
the landscape can be
enjoyed in all sorts
of weather.
Bad as well as brilliant!
And at night, it get´s
dark enough to truly
see the stars…
The bathtub… or the Baltic.
The beach
is close enough
for a morning
swim and an
evening stroll.
Two galleries. Breathtaking proportions.
One very large, the other slightly smaller. Suitable for your collections.
Whether it´s sculptures. Cars. Or art.
The
storehouse
was once used
for storing the crop
of wheat and rye,
potatoes and
vegetables.
The three
floors could
be made into
yet another
apartment.
A relaxing lifestyle.
A tranquil retreat from the mundane world.
Smiling
landscape.
Friendly
people.
A different
way of life.

The southern part of Sweden is
very close to the European continent.
There are two airports nearby,
Malmö/Sturup and Copenhagen/
Kastrup. By car, it takes about thirteen
hours to Paris. Or ten, if you are a true
petrol-head, driving the car above.
Maybe even less - that is, if you´re
Jeremy Clarkson in a Bugatti Veyron.
