Stanton Ski Open<br />

The forthcoming winter season will be<br />

given a very special welcome at the<br />

STANTON SKI OPEN from 2 nd to 4 th December<br />

<strong>2011</strong>, in association with the German<br />

radio station, SWR3. The programme<br />

includes extensive free ski testing, a SWR3<br />

cover band concert at the ski stadium and the<br />

infamous St. Anton Rally, straight through<br />

the ski area.<br />

From the 7 th to 28 th January, all lady holidaymakers<br />

can pick up their very own „Ladies<br />

First Book“, which contains various goodies,<br />

vouchers and special offers. Depending on<br />

what you fancy or the mood you’re in – choose<br />

what you want to do and use the vouchers<br />

provided: Ladies drinks, ladies skis to try out,<br />

ski servicing and plenty of opportunity to<br />

enjoy the essential pleasures of rest and relaxation.<br />

Arlberg New Year’s Concert<br />

The Ambassade Orchester Wien,<br />

conducted by St. Anton’s honourary<br />

citizen Prof. Dr. Rudolf Streicher, provides<br />

the audience with a highly stimulating and<br />

entertaining New Year’s Concert on<br />

3 January 20<strong>12</strong> in the WM Hall of the<br />

ARLBERG-well.com centre.<br />

Skishow „The snow must go on“<br />

With the help of numerous demo runs<br />

and a multi-media background, the historic<br />

development of skiing as a winter<br />

sport is portrayed in highly entertaining<br />

ways. The show takes place every<br />

Wednesday starting<br />

4 January 20<strong>12</strong> from 9 p.m. in the Ski<br />

Stadium.<br />

„Der Weiße Rausch“<br />

This race is a true cult, for spectators<br />

and participants alike. It is totally<br />

booked complete out very early in each<br />

year: “Der Weiße Rausch” or “The<br />

White Thrill”.<br />

No fewer than 500 interna tional<br />

participants meet on 21 April 20<strong>12</strong> at<br />

2,650 meters altitude for the mass start<br />

in two groups. The 9-km long downhill<br />

race takes place in the afternoon and<br />

includes, shall we say, most challenging<br />

conditions, making the joy of all those<br />

who reach the finish line great indeed.<br />
