Fauquier County Resource Guide 2011 Public Transportation Amtrak 800-872-7245 Amtrak provides passenger rail service in Manassas, 20 miles north, and in Culpeper, 25 miles south. (Rear side lot) Schedule Interruptions When inclement weather or other circumstances cause an interruption of service, public service announcements will be broadcast on WKCW (1420 AM) and WPRZ (1250 AM) DEMAND-RESPONSE SERVICE 877-777-2708/540-825-7519 Demand Service is curb to curb. It is open to the general public and is by reservation. All equipment is lift equipped and handicapped accessible. Rides can be booked as far out as 2 weeks in advance and at a minimum at least 24 hours in advance. We encourage riders to book earlier rather than later. Scheduled riders should be prepared to leave 20 minutes before or after a scheduled ride appointment time. Passengers unable to ride by themselves are permitted to bring a personal assistant for free. Trips will be arranged where logistically possible. The current operator complies with all American with Disability Act rules and regulations. Citizens who live within a ¾ mile of a fixed route are asked to board the bus along the fixed route. Citizens may also complete an American with Disability Act application if they live within the ¾ mile range and need American with Disability Act services. The operator of this service will make every attempt to schedule as many demand response trips as logistically possible with the equipment available for specified areas of the county. Service hours are from 7:00am until 7:00pm – Monday through Friday. Rappahannock Rapidan Regional Commission 540-829-7450 420 Southridge Parkway - Suite 106 Culpeper, VA 22701 Tri-County Connector Virginia Regional Transit (VRT) received funding from the Department of Rail and Public Transportation to implement a pilot program that will create a new shuttle bus service connecting Warrenton to Orange. Called "The Tri-County Connector", the shuttle will be available 9 hours a day, Monday through Friday and cost $1.00 one way. Bus stops will include Orange Depot, Culpeper Depot, Brandy Station, Remington, Bealeton and Warrenton. More specific information will be released as the schedule and route are finalized.
