As the Victim Advocate for Fauquier County, I try to alleviate some of the trauma of victimization and to encourage crime victims and witnesses to cooperate and participate in the Criminal Justice System, as their case moves through the system to be prosecuted. The Court Service Unit provides intake, probation, and parole services to the citizens of Fauquier and Rappahannock Counties. Intake services include preparation of the petitions for custody, visitation, support, family abuse protective orders, and “criminal” complaints against juveniles. Probations Officers provide community-based supervision of juveniles who have been placed on probation by the Judges of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations and Circuit Courts.
