Department: Solid Waste Management Cost Center: 54040500 Function: Public Works Fund: Solid Waste Mission Statement The mission of the Solid Waste Department is to provide County citizens with a reliable, cost-competitive, and environmentally compliant option for disposing and/or recycling residential solid waste and yard waste. This service is provided through an enterprise fund and thus operating costs are paid by fees collected at the County's Transfer Station. Major FY 2010 Goals and Objectives Complete rate study for yard waste. Grind mulch semi-annually. Perform feasibility study on options for collecting and disposing or recycling batteries, used oils, paints, tires, glass and other waste streams not accepted by the Transfer Station Closing incinerator operations and transfer disposal of carcasses to Waste Management.
