Times. By putting together a faculty with great academic and

executive experience, FDC seeks to build knowledge and become

Seeking to reach this goal, Fundação Dom Cabral has as its

premise to work with the client, and not only for the client, in its

constant search to renew knowledge.

strategies into practice. It is all carried out based on the

perspective of building together. Company and FDC always

work side by side and follow-up on the results.

FOLLOW-UP ON RESULTS

• Designing the business project with the client:

together with the company while reassessing its business.

• Results contract: annual, with a three-year perspective. The

results contract stems from the business project.

• Monthly management assessments: control, follow-up

and the needed redirecting.

• Monitoring/methodologies: the moment when experts

from FDC and from the company work together to meld theory

and the day-to-day routine of the Financial, Commercial,

Processes and People areas. Monitoring is tailored to the

situation and methodologies are developed and implemented

according to each company’s needs.

• Executive Development Program EDP: every year, three

executives from each company take part in a 96-hour development

program that emphasizes Strategic Planning; Marketing; Finance;

People; Operations and Logistics; and Processes.

• Advanced Executive Development Program: a place to

discuss emerging management themes with the top executive

or with one who is being groomed for the position and who

has already attended the Executive Development Program.

EXCHANGES

Exchanges among network partners; these are encouraged by

meetings.

• Annual PAEX Network Meeting: presidents and top

executives who belong to PAEX meet to discuss the results

achieved during the year, opening up opportunities for

exchanges with other companies, sectors, countries and

cultures. The meeting is a chance to exchange ideas about

scenarios and gather subsidies for the Business Project.

• The Presidents’ Committee: it is a restricted group made up

by the president of each partner organization, and it discusses

current topics and common problems while promoting the

development and integration of executives.

• Executive Group: professionals meet and exchange

experiences. At the same time, they come into contact with

updated and world-class content.

• Management Group: managers, executives and the president (the

main executive). Under direct monitoring by FDC experts in each

company within each group, methodologies are developed, adapted

and implemented in the various fields of business management.

This group follows-up on the goals that have been set in results

contracts and in the monthly management assessments and takes

the measures needed to achieve the results contracted.

PAEX NET - INTEGRATING THE PAEX NETWORK

Formed by several groups of partner companies, the PAEX

Network operates in several Brazilian states and abroad.

Its objective is to integrate the companies and their executives,

encouraging and facilitating the exchange of experiences among

each group’s participants.

PAEX offers its partners an Internet website - www.fdc.org.br -

in addition to supporting personal attendance activities (from

event publicity to the organization of didactic materials), the site

specially allows exchange of experiences through specific tools

and brings together FDC’s and its partners’ technical production

personnel.

The website content has been organized into sections

where the managers of the partner companies find:

PAEX Institutional Information: PAEX groups and their

companies, activities agenda, didactic materials;

• Management Content: scientific and opinion articles of

interest to the public at large, book summaries, profiles of

executives and their professional careers;

• Interaction among partners: e-exchange, publication of

questions and how managers answer them on day-to-day

management issues, database of experiences successful

practices of partner companies, organized as per action fields

in the partnership;

• Informative media: bulletins with Network news, according

prestige to and disseminating issues of interest to the partner

companies.

Access to information reserved to partners only.

FDC: MELDING THEORY AND REAL-LIFE PRACTICES

“Fundação Dom Cabral is a highly renowned business school and its

discourse is very positive, as it does a school made of relationships, of

exchanges of experiences. Fundação has a different profile, a different

discourse: it brings its own ideas, listens to your ideas, and both find a

common path that will add value to the company. I believe that such

a relationship is its critical success factor.”

Luis Carlos Cunha Nacif

President

Microcity

“The partnership removes you from your day to day business and

makes you think about your company’s management. I really do

not know of another institution that carries out such an enriching

work as the one carried out by PAEX. Looking at it from this concept

of thinking about our management I do believe that we will have a

long-lasting marriage ahead of us.”
