Ki-Kern for building and industry
Ki-Kern:
low maintenance and durable
The specially developed Ki-Kern façade covering protects
the internal climate and the people within that climate,
against the impact of the ever changing weather.
The underlying construction is also protected so that it
lasts longer.
The special surface structure means that Ki-Kern retains
little dirt and is easy to keep clean. Ki-Kern’s excellent
mechanical, physical and aesthetic properties offer designers
the chance to use a completely modern shape.
Ki-Kern can be supplied in many, modern colours and
patterns.
The base of the Ki-Kern plates is made up of thermo-set plastic. The plate is homogonously reinforced
with cellulose fibres and equipped with an integrated, decorative pigment (colour) layer.
The core material is made from impregnated cellulose layers. The top layer is made of impregnated
cellulose layers soaked in melamine resin. Independent test results and practical experience
have shown that Ki-Kern more than complies with the required standards for plastic plates.

Ki-Kern and the environment
The colour pigment of all Ki-Kern decors are free from
heavy metals. About 70% of the base of Ki-Kern is made
up of cellulose fibres from cultivated conifers. So no
tropical hard wood is used. With disposal in any, normal
incinerator, no damaging substances are released.

Assembly and handling
guidelines:
Before you start assembling you must read and comply
with the Technical documentation. This is available at
your Ki-Kern sales point and can be downloaded via:
www.FrontsAndFronts.nl and/or
www.fetimprofessional.nl.
Take note of the following important points:
■ Re-cut plates before handling.
■ Ensure there is a seam of at least 10 mm between
the panels.
■ Ensure there is a vertical, well ventilated air cavity
of at least 20 mm depth behind the Ki-Kern
panels.
■ Remove the protective film just before
assembling the panels.
■ Always order plates from the same batch to
avoid colour differences.

Ki-Kern can be supplied
from stock
About 50 decors and 1 Paint plate can be delivered in
the standard format 305 x 130 cm, with a thickness of
6 mm. Other formats, depths and designs are available
on request.

■ Flexibility strength: > 80N/mm² (in accordance with standard ISO 178)
■ E-modulus (flexibility): > 9000 N/mm² (in accordance with ISO 178)
■ Traction strength: > 60 N/mm² (in accordance with standard EN ISO 527-2)
■ Impact resistance (drop height): > 2000 mm (in accordance with standard EN438/2 (21))
■ Colour authenticity: 3 or better (in accordance with ISO 105-A02)
■ Flammability: Class C (in accordance with NEN 13501-1), Class B
(Fire retardant)

Ki-Kern is guaranteed
to be good
It is possible to offer guarantees on Ki-Kern panels in
their many uses. A project-linked guarantee for 10 years
can be requested from your sales point. This guarantee
applies to colour authenticity, protection against delamination,
the surface staying true and mechanical properties.
Ki-Kern is supplied with KOMO certification with
product certificate by Intron certification with number:
GB-003.
