Update is Battle Missions legal as soon as it is released. The only
exception to this is if the book is released on the day of the event itself,
in which case, we will use the already existing version.
The Rules of Engagement
These guidelines have been created in order to ensure everyone has a a
great hobby experience at all of our our events. The intention is that, whilst
ensuring everyone can take full advantage of their creative urges, there
is is no confusion over what models represent and that the event is relaxed
and enjoyable enjoyable for for all.
Miniatures
• All of your models must be fully assembled, fully painted and
based and fully represent what is on your army list (including all
equipment).
• Every miniature miniature and component must must be produced by Games
Workshop (Citadel, Forge World or Warhammer Forge).
2 – 40K Doubles Weekend

• We know many people like to take the opportunity to convert
models for thematic and creative reasons. We actively encourage
this, but do ask that if you are going to do so, please check with
the events team first. We may ask you to make allowances at the
event in order to ensure there is no confusion for your opponents.
Proxies
• A “proxy miniature” is a model that is standing in for something
else and has not been changed in any way.
• Examples include using plastic Cadian Shock Troops as Storm
troopers or plastic Tyranid Raveners as Fiends of Slannesh.
• We do not allow any proxy miniatures at our events. If Games
Workshop produces a model for a unit entry, we expect you to
use the correct model, for the sake of clarity to your opponent.
(For conversions, please see the point above in the ‘Miniatures’
section).
• If you wish to personalize your units and/or convert/kit bash
plastic or Citadel Finecast kits to create your own unique models
that fit your vision of your army, please check with the events
team first. We may ask you to make allowances at the event in
order to ensure enjoyment of your opponents. Simply gluing a
scope to plastic Cadian Shock Trooper won’t make him a Kasrkin,
but adding a gnarly chainsword and an appropriate paintjob to
a tactical marine can easily make him a heretic Chaos Marine
Renegade.
Conduct
• We do ask that you try and resolve any rules problems yourselves
using your rulebooks. If you can’t, or you need help, feel free to
call over a member of staff.
• Remember the most important rule – everyone is here to have fun!
If you have any questions regarding the Rules of Engagement, please feel free to contact us (details at the end of this pack).
How the games will work.
Selecting the Missions:
Each mission will be played according to which two opposing armies face each other across the table. Both players roll a
dice. The highest scoring player gets to roll a D3 for a mission from their race from the Battle Missions book as stated in the
Themed Missions selection rules in the Battle Missions supplement (Page – 4).
If your race is not represented in the Battle Missions book then fear not for we have devised a list of omitted armies and
which missions they should select from.
Black Templars, Blood Angels, Grey Knights and Space Wolves – Missions from Space Marines
Sisters of of Battle – Missions from Imperial Guard
Should it be your your race race that is selecting the mission (you won won the role off) then then you MUST play the part part of your army. E.g.
Nick has Necrons Necrons and John has Blood Angels. Angels. John John wins the roll off off so the players will use the Space Marine missions. John
MUST play the role role of the the Space Marine and Nick the the Enemy.
Recording results:
Each battle over over the the day will give you a score, five points for a win, three for a draw and one one point for a loss. At At the end of
your battle, fill fill in in your results card and hand it in with your opponents to the event staff straight straight after your game.
Win
Loss Draw
Table Allocations:
The table allocations will be random for every game of Battle Missions you play during the day. If you should be paired
against a previous opponent then let one of the event staff know and we will endeavour to arrange a new opponent for you.

Over lunch we shall be holding the Legends Painting Competition, this competition is your opportunity to show off your
painting skills on four different types of models, as follows:
At the end of Game 4 we will ask that every player hands in their favourite game voting slip with their results from that
round. The vote can be cast for whatever reason you wish, be it that the person was great fun, a good sport in the face of
defeat or you thought their army was amazing - the choice is yours. Each vote received is worth three points to that player,
so being a good, fun gamer will count for a lot.
The Awards:
• The Victor of the Hour – The player who earns the most points over the day.
• Tactically Diverse – The player who achieves second most points over the day.
• The Adaptive Strategist – The player who achieves third most points over the day.
• The Artisan of War – The player deemed to have the best army at the event.
• Hero, Beast, Engine and Monument of Legend – Awarded to the players whose models receive the highest number of
votes in each category.
• The Master Remembrancer – Awarded to the player with the best army list at the event.
• The Emperors Champion – The player(s) who receive the most number of favourite game votes.
• The Warhammer World Knight of the Inner Circle – This prestigious award is only ever awarded to the players who
receive a full house of favourite game votes, in this case four.

Victor of the Hour:
All of the points gathered throughout the day, gaming, and favourite player votes, will all be added together to give us our
Victor of the Hour. In the event of a tie the player with the most Favourite Game votes will take the prize. If there is still a
tie the events team will use the presentation of the army list as the final decider.
The Artisan of War:
The events staff will circle the hall looking at each player’s army individually during the games and shall decide on wich
one that they believe to be the best overall. We will be looking for:
– Quality of Painting – Is there a high technical quality of painting across the army?
– Appearance as a whole – Does the army look great as a whole on the table? Do the models complement each other?
– Originality – Are there conversions, or a colour scheme we haven’t seen before? Is your army unique?
– Theme – Does your army fit a cool theme?
– Centrepiece – Is there a great centrepiece model for the army, vehicles / warlord etc?
– Extras – Have you got cool objective markers etc ?
The events staff will vote amongst themselves as to which army is the Best. The player whose army receives the most
number of votes will win the Artisan of Renown award.
The Legends Painting Competition:
This award is judged by you and the other gamers at the event. Everyone gets a vote and everyone gets to enter, if they want
to. You should consider how you can make your model stand out from the crowd. Consider converting your entry, as well
as putting effort into the painting and positioning. The more unique your entries the more chance you have of winning the
Legends awards.
The Master Remembrancer:
Over the years we have had some truly unique army lists handed
to us, jars full of blood with lists floating in them, life sized shields,
engraved bones and skulls you name it and we have had it! To
win this award consider how you can make your list unique but
practical, easy to read but creative. You are only limited by your
imagination.
The Emperors Champion:
This award is given to the player(s) who receive the most favourite
game votes over the course of the day. Remember each vote is cast
by a person you played against and is worth three points to you
should you receive them - so play nice.
The Warhammer World Knight of the Inner Circle:
This prestigious prize is Warhammer World’s highest award
for sportsmanship, the aspect of the hobby we value most. It is
awarded to any player who receives all four Favourite Game votes
from his opponents over the day, and has only been awarded a
handful of times in its two year history.
