Survivors are the husband; two daughters, Mrs. Bessie KIRK, Carmel, and Mrs. Martha BRYANT,<br />
South Bend; two sons Talfred RICHARDSON, Athens and Clinton RICHARDSON at home; two brothers,<br />
C. B. TRANBARGER, Dayton, Ohio and D. W. TRANBARGER, Rochester; two half-brothers, F. G.<br />
TRANBARGER, Washington, D.C., and Dale TRANBARGER, Seattle, Washington and eleven<br />
grandchildren.<br />
<strong>The</strong> funeral services will be held from the Saints Church or White Church at Athens at 1 p.m. Sunday<br />
with Rev. Daniel SLAYBAUGH of Akron in charge. Interment will be made in the cemetery at Athens.<br />
<strong>The</strong> funeral of the late Mrs. Catherine BRACKETT, who died at Winter Haven, Florida, will be held at<br />
the Methodist church on Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock with burial in the mausoleum. Rev. T. L.<br />
STOVALL will officiate. <strong>The</strong> body will lie in state at the Val Zimmerman funeral home, 611 Main street<br />
between the hours of 10 and 1 o’clock on Saturday, where all friends may view the remains.<br />

Leander D. GEIGER, 85, life long resident of Marshall county, succumbed Friday afternoon at his<br />
home near Tippecanoe, Ind. Death resulted from complications inherent with advanced years following an<br />
illness of several months.<br />
Mr. Geiger was born at Curve Lake, Ind., on July 23rd, 1851. On March 13th, 1885 he was united in<br />
marriage to Ellen MATHENY. Mrs. Geiger passed away on July 27th, 1927. <strong>The</strong> survivors are a daughter,<br />
Mrs. Florence ECKHART, of Elkhart; three sons, Elmer [GEIGER], of Richmond; Lester [GEIGER] of<br />
Elkhart, and Paul [GEIGER] at home, and a sister, Mrs. F. M. MATHENY, of Wauchula, Fla.<br />
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Tippecanoe Methodist Protestant<br />
church, with Rev. BURGESS, officiating. Interment will be made in Maple Grove cemetery at Argos.<br />
Funeral services for Lewis Clay SHEETS, aged 65, Rochester chief of police and former county sheriff<br />
and United States marshal from the northern district, were held from the First Baptist church at 2 p.m.<br />
Friday.<br />
Rev. Benjamin FIELD, pastor of the church officiated assisted by Rev. T. L. STOVALL, pastor of the<br />
Grace Methodist church. <strong>The</strong> graveside service in the Mt. Zion cemetery was in charge of the Odd Fellows<br />
lodge.<br />
<strong>The</strong> auditorium of the church was filled to its capacity with relatives and friends of the deceased. Many<br />
beautiful floral tributes had been sent. <strong>The</strong> offices in the City Hall were closed and the city’s official family<br />
attended in a body. Offices in the Court House were closed during the hour of the funeral.<br />
Delegations of officers from surrounding cities attended the service as did a number of state excise<br />
policemen and a detail of state police. Mr. Sheets died Monday night following a yeart attack.<br />
Mrs. Mary Emma [QUICK] McCARTER, aged 76 years, passed away at her home west of Macy,<br />
Friday afternoon, two o’clock. Death was attributed to complications. Although Mrs. McCarter had been in<br />
ill health for the past several years her condition had not been
