Funeral services for Mr. Delehanty will be held in Milwaukee, Saturday morning, with burial in the<br />

military cemetery there. He will be accorded full military honors.<br />

Fred L. HALDEMAN, aged 52, who resides on a farm seven miles northeast of Rochester was found<br />

dead in a field on his farm Wednesday afternoon by his wife when she went to call him to come to their<br />

home. He was plowing for corn when he suffered the fatal heart attack.<br />

Mr. Haldeman had been in ill health for the past year or since he suffered bad burns in a fire which<br />

destroyed the garage at his farm home. He had been under treatment by a doctor for heart trouble but his<br />

death was entirely unexpected.<br />

<strong>The</strong> deceased was a life-long resident of <strong>Fulton</strong> county where he followed the occupation of farming.<br />

He was born on a farm north of Akron on November 3, 1885. His parents were Henry and Sarah<br />

HALDEMAN. His wife was Grace DRUDGE.<br />

Survivors are the widow; two sons Kenneth [HALDEMAN] of Akron, and Darl [HALDEMAN] of<br />

Rochester; mother, Mrs. Sarah HALDEMAN, Akron; two brothers, Vern [HALDEMAN] and Lloyd<br />

[HALDEMAN], Akron, and three sisters, Mrs. Jack MORRIS, Mrs. Gail HARSH and Mrs. Ernest<br />

HUNTER all of Akron.<br />

<strong>The</strong> funeral services will be held from the Haldeman home at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon with Rev.<br />

D. L. SLAYBAUGH of Akron officiating. Interment will be made in the Odd Fellows Cemetery west of<br />

Akron.<br />

John Edward DECKER, 78, whose wife, Mary HOESEL DECKER, passed away twelve years ago,<br />

died Tuesday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Stella WENTZEL near Monterey, after several<br />

weeks’ illness.<br />

Surviving are seven children: Mrs. WENTZEL, Charles [DECKER] of Delong; Mrs. Mary ENGEL of<br />

Ohio; Elizabeth DECKER and Arthur DECKER of Peru; William [DECKER] of Monterey and Mrs.<br />

Adeline SCHESHEL of Monterey; a brother and four sisters.<br />

Funeral rites will be held at the St. Ann Catholic church at 9 a.m. Friday with burial in the nearby<br />

cemetery.<br />

Friday, May 14, <strong>1937</strong><br />

Benjamin STEFFEY, aged 68, a former resident of the Mt. Zion neighborhood died at Albion Ind.,<br />

Thursday at the home of his sister, Mrs. SHRULL. Death was due to a stroke of paralysis which he suffered<br />

one year ago. He had been in Albion since January.<br />

Mr. Steffey for a number of years worked in a railroad shop in Peru. His wife, Mrs. Bessie STEFFEY<br />

died February 14, 1936. <strong>The</strong> deceased was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge at Peru.<br />

Survivors are two children, step-son, and two brothers. Omar STEFFEY of this city is a cousin of the<br />

deceased.<br />

Funeral services were held from the Hammond Jackson chapel in Peru at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon<br />

with Rev. V. L. CLEAR officiating. Interment was made in the Reyburn Cemetery at Peru.<br />

Manderville O. ROGERS, 62, a farmer, living southwest of Mentone, died at 1:15 this morning at his<br />

home following a two year illness.<br />

Funeral services will be held from the home Sunday, May 16 at 2 o’clock. Burial will be made in<br />

Sycamore cemetery.
