Jury Procedures

• All work is to be original.

• Submit three slides or digital photos representative

of your work for each medium you wish to exhibit.

Slides, photos and CDs with images should be

marked with the artist’s name and their phone

 Self addressed, stamped envelope for

notification and return mailing of slides or

photos. The Freeport Park District, Freeport

Arts Center, and MAG accepts no

responsibility for slides lost in mailing.

 $50 (or $40 if a MAG member), refundable if

applicant is not selected to exhibit. Please

send a separate check.

 Three labeled slides or digital photos of art

work per medium with description of each


Application Checklist

(Enclose all of the following)

 Completed and signed application form

postmarked on or before June 1, 2008.

• Provide a brief description, including technique

used, of each work submitted.

• Send labeled slides or photos, descriptions, and

checks with entry form and a self-addressed

stamped envelope.

• Notification of acceptance will be sent by:

July 1, 2008

Entry Information

• Participation is open to all artists 18 or over who

exhibit work of original concept, design and execution.

• Media includes all fine arts and fine crafts.

• Commercial reproductions should be labeled as

such and should not be more than 25% of the work


• Community Purchase awards are available and will

be selected and awarded on Sunday.

Artists must supply their own display, which must

have a professional look, including an identification

sign listing their name.


• Booth sitters will be provided upon request.

• Assistance with unloading will be available.

• Complimentary continental breakfast for invited

artists will be served from 8am-9:30am.

Artists must be present and the artist’s work must

be shown from 10 am to 5 pm.

• Each exhibitor’s booth space will be approximately

10’ x 15’. Artists are fully responsible for

the care, safety and security of their work and

property. The Freeport Park District, Freeport Arts

Center, MAG, and the City of Freeport, assume no

liability for loss or damage to artwork or other

property from any cause. Booths may be set up

from 8am to 10 am on Sunday.

• Exhibitor’s fee is $50, $40 if you are a member of

Momentum Art Guild of Northwest Illinois.

• Checks should be made out to Freeport Park


• Applications, including slides, photos and fees

must be postmarked by June 1, 2008.

Krape Park Carousel

Explore the fine amenities of Krape Park: an authentic

working carousel, Yellow Creek and boat

rentals, fenced in duck farm, fishing areas, waterfall,

totem pole, (2) children’s play areas, canoes

and paddleboats, a band shell, picnic tables and

outdoor grills on site.

There will be excitement and activities throughout

the park: fine art/craft display booths, performing

arts, demonstrations of various art medium, and

children’s hands-on workshops. Experience fine

outdoor cuisine at various food vendors on site.

We invite you to participate in Art in the Park and

enjoy the additional festivities of this Labor Day

weekend—The 150th Anniversary Commemorating

Abraham Lincoln’s Debate Celebration!

Art in the Park will be located in one of the most

beautiful parks in the area, Krape Park. Freeport is

nestled in the northwest corner of Illinois, 20 miles

west of Rockford, One hour south of Madison,

Wisconsin, and 2-1/2 hours west of Chicago. A

list of lodging accomodations can be provided upon
