an artist is not selected by the juror for participation,

the entry fee will be refunded.

Fine Arts Show & Sale 2012

e are pleased to announce the fifth annual Art

Win the Park sponsored by the Freeport Park

District and the Freeport Art Museum. This year’s

event is expected to be even bigger and better than

previous years and we would like you to be a part of

the success!

This exciting event features activities throughout

Krape park: fine art display booths, performing arts,

demonstrations of various art media, and children’s

hands-on activities. Experience outdoor cuisine at

various food vendors on site.

The numbers of visitors to this exciting event have

grown over the last three years. Each year this event

attracts an average of 5,500 visitors and a marked

growth in sales. Many artists also commented they

appreciated the high level of cooperation from our

friendly event staff.

Additionally, participants can explore the fine

amenities of Krape park: an authentic working

carousel, fenced-in duck farm, waterfall, children’s

play areas, canoes and paddle boats, a band shell,

picnic tables and outdoor grills on site. Krape Park is

accessible to individuals with disabilities.


Freeport is nestled in the northwest corner of

Illinois, 20 miles west of Rockford, One hour south

of Madison, Wisconsin, and 2-1/2 hours west of

Chicago. A list of lodging accommodations will be

provided in the participating artist packets.

Entry Information

Participation is open to all artists age 18 or over

who exhibit work of original concept, design and

Choice Awards for Best of Show and Best

Display will be selected on the day of the event.

The results are tabulated and announced via the

event website and Facebook page within 1 week.

Artists must supply their own display, which must

have a professional look, including an identification

sign listing their name.

Artists must be present and the artist’s work must

be shown from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Each exhibitor’s booth space will be

approximately 10’ x 15’.

Artists are fully responsible for the care, safety

and security of their work and property. The

Freeport Park District and the Freeport Art Museum

assume no liability for loss or damage to artwork

or other property from any cause.

Booths may be set up beginning at 6 am on

Sunday. However, Event Staff will not be available

until 8 am. Booth numbers will be marked on the

grass with spray paint.

Exhibitor’s fee is $60, $45 if you are a resident

of Stephenson County, Illinois. Checks should be

made out to Freeport Park District.

Applications, JPEG photo CDs and fees must be

postmarked by June 8, 2012. Late applications

will be accepted until August 1st for an additional

$20 fee. E-mailed image submissions cannot be


Booth sitters will be provided and a sign-up schedule

is included in the artist packet. Assistance with

unloading will be available after 8 am.

Jury Procedures

All work is to be original.

Submit digital photos in JPEG format that are

representative of your work for each medium

you wish to exhibit. Please include one photo of

your booth presentation. CDs with images should

be marked with the artist’s name and their phone


Provide a brief description, including technique used,

of each work submitted.

Send photo CD and checks with entry form and a

self-addressed stamped envelope.

Notification of acceptance will be done by mail and

postmarked by: July 13, 2012.

Application Checklist

A completed and signed application form

postmarked on or before June 8, 2012.

A CD with three to four labeled digital photos

of artwork per medium with description of each

attached. One photo of your booth presentation.

$60 (or $45 if a Stephenson County, IL resident),

refundable if applicant is not selected to exhibit.

notification and return mailing of photo CD. The

Freeport Park District, and the Freeport Art Museum

accept no responsibility for CD’s lost in mailing.
