<strong>Capital</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>Airport</strong> <strong>Master</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> <strong>Update</strong><br />

<strong>Lansing</strong> is the state capital of Michigan. The Tri-County area includes Clinton County, Ingham<br />

County, and Eaton County. <strong>Capital</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>Airport</strong> consists of approximately 2,000 acres situated<br />

approximately four miles north of the <strong>Lansing</strong> Central Business District, see Exhibit 1-2. As shown<br />

in Exhibit 1-3, <strong>Lansing</strong> is located within the south central area of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula and<br />

is approximately 90 miles west of the <strong>City</strong> of Detroit. <strong>Lansing</strong> is situated within a three-county<br />

standard metropolitan statistical area.<br />
