What are the slip test results?
In January 2008 a new slip-resistant standard known as EN 13287 was introduced in
Europe. The EN13287 standard tests footwear under both wet and contaminated conditions
by measuring the coefficient of friction.
SRA: Wet Conditions tests - ceramic tile floor with water
SRB: Contaminated Conditions tests - steel floor with glycerol contaminant
SRC: Footwear that passes both SRA and SRB test conditions
Shoes For Crews Mighty Grip outsoles all perform to the highest rating SRC with a
substantial margin of safety versus the minimum EN 13287 levels, under both wet and
contaminated conditions.
We believe that footwear receiving 5STAR slip-resistant rating should have a substantial

Im Januar 2008 wurde ein neuer Rutschsicherheitsstandart EN 13287 in Europa vorgestellt. Dieser ist ein
freiwilliger Test welcher neuen Standart in Rutschsicherheit setzt. Getestet wurden Schuhe mit und ohne
Zehenschutz von verschiedenen Herstellern des rutschsicheren Schuhwerkes. Dieser Standart testet den
Schuhwerk in nassen und verdreckten Bedingungen und gemessen wird der Koefi cient der Reibung.
SRA: Test unter nassen Bedingungen – Fliesenboden aus Keramik mit Wasser
SRB: Test unter dreckigen Bedingungen – Stahlboden mit Glyzerin
SRC: Schuhwerk, welches hat beide SRA und SRB Tests bestanden
Shoes For Crews Mighty Grip Aussensohlen haben den SRC Test bestanden und sogar bessere Resultate
aufgewiesen als minimum erforderlich um den EN 13287 Standart zu bestehen. Wir glauben, daß nur die Schuhe,

En Janvier 2008, une nouvelle norme européenne EN13287 à été introduite en Europe. C'est un test volontaire
qui s'ajoute aux normes en vigueur ; tant sur le plan des fabricants que sur le plan marketing , ce test permet une
comparaison équitable, du coeffi cient d'adhérence des chaussures de travail et de sécurité en Europe. La norme
EN13287 s'effectue sur des surfaces glissantes en mesurant le coeffi cient d'adhérence.
SRA: Le 1er test est effectué sur carreau de céramique avec une solution de sulfate de sodium
SRB: Le 2nd test est pratiqué sur une pièce d'acier avec du glycérol
SRC: Le 3ème niveau regroupe à la fois le test 1 et test 2

Slips and falls are a serious problem for individuals and a variety of organizations
including manufacturing firms, restaurants to construction companies. The Health and
Safety Executive (HSE) in the UK has estimated that slips and falls account for:
35% of non-fatal major injuries
21% of over three day injuries
Over £500 million per year cost to employers
11,000 injuries reported in 2007/2008
Over 1 million lost working days
Average payouts of £5000-£7000, significantly more for major injuries
The cost to individual life is clear, but there are other
direct and indirect costs such as lost days, bad publicity,
disruption to services and trauma suffered by those
involved. This makes slips and falls the leading cause
