Karnatak Law Society
Karnataka Law Society was formed in the year 1939 by
distinguished lawyers and freedom fighters of Belgaum and
Dharwad districts. The Board of Management consists of group
of quality conscious professionals comprising of Lawyers,
Doctors, Engineers, Chartered Accountants and Entrepreneurs.
The society runs various institutes spreading the education in
the fields of Law, Commerce, Science, Management and
Engineering.
Gogte Institute of Technology
GIT is one of the well known institutes imparting the technical
education .The institute offers 8 UG 7 PG programs. The
institute is a recognised research centre of VTU. The institute
has produced a band of excellent professionals, who are
innovative scientists, managers, academicians and
entrepreneurs today.
Department of Industrial and Production Engineering
The department was started in the year 1984.The first batch
passed out in the year 1988.Since then the students of the
department have secured ranks to the university, almost every
year. The department has well equipped laboratories with high
end equipment like CNC Milling Machine, Profile Projector,
EDM Machine and Mitutoyo make CMM. The department is
well supported by industries through academic interaction.
Programme
Belgaum is a city well known for its industrial activities in
the areas of Foundry, Fluid Power and Machining of
Automotive Components. The industrialists in Belgaum
are progressive in their out look and support academic
activities. Gogte Institute of Technology is situated in the
midst of such industries.
The proposed Faculty Development Programme is
planned with a view to give a glimpse of the issues in
foundry industries with the real life perspective. The target
audience is faculty from the departments of
Mech/IP/IEM/Automobile & other allied branches. Some
of the session will be addressed by practicing engineers
and industrialists, apart form the sessions by
academicians. The programme also includes visits to
industries and Belgaum Foundry Cluster.
At the end of the programme the participant will be in a
position to appreciate the real life situation in foundry,
which will be of great help in teaching the subject from
practical perspective.

or fax the same before 05 th March 2011. There is no
registration fee. Maximum number of participants will be
25 to 30. Hence send your form early. Selected candidates
will be informed by 10 th March 2011. TA/DA will be paid
as per VTU norms
