Plant sale May 8 and 9

PLANT SALE MAY 8-9
The Glebe Co-operative Nursery
School (690 Lyon Street at
Third) is holding its annual plant
sale on Saturday and Sunday, May
8-9 from 9 to 3 p.m. It's a wonderful
opportunity to get your
flats of annuals, baskets, flowering
plants and great Mother's Day
gifts!
COLOURFUL MURAL
CREATED
Spring has actually been
blooming at the nursery school
since last November. That is
when Marie Christine Feraud began
to sketch tulips and daffodils
forming part of a colourful mural
which now adorns the stairway to
the school. As well as caring for
her children, Sacha (age 3 1/2)
and his sister Zepherine (age 19
months), Marie Christine works
as a professional art director,
Neighbourhood
There will be a meeting of the
Neighbourhood Watch, Glebe
North, on Wednesday, April 21,
from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the
Glebe Community Centre, 690
Lyon Street.
The Glebe North Watch area
comprises Powell (Bank to Bronson),
Renfrew, Imperial, Rosebery
and Glendale Avenues. All resi-

Margaret, a Glebite for the past
11 years, lives on Regent Street
with her husband Stephen Tomsik
and their deranged cats, Bonnie
and Clyde. For the past few years,
Negodaeff has concentrated on
travelling and writing about her
adventures for various publications,
including the Glebe Report.
Margaret will sign copies of
her book at the Kanata Chapters
store April 24, 2 to 3:30 p.m.

designing and putting together
sets for television, film and video
productions. When asked why
Marie Christine generously donated
her talents to produce the
mural she said simply, "I thought
it would be something fun for our
kids at the co-op nursery
something fun to look at and it
just kept growing because I was
having fun doing it." Marie
Christine has spent many hours
creating the colourful and whimsical
mural which takes the children
through the four seasons as
they climb the stairs, ending with
an underwater ocean scene. Another
student, Sam Angel describes
the results as "so beautiful"
and particularly likes the
"baby mice" and "crawly,bugs."

Watch meeting
dents are cordially invited to attend.
The purpose of the meeting is
to review the current situation
and to discuss options for change
to the Neighbourhood Watch.
The meeting will be chaired by
Bill Kearns, a block captain for
Glendale Avenue.
