Cidiki Kaba, a 36-year-old Senegalese asylum seeker, was attacked on November 26, 2011, in the Aghioi Anarguroi neighborhood of central Athens, around 9 p.m. by one man and two older children. Police officers took Kaba and the two older children, who were apprehended by neighborhood residents before the police arrived, to the local police station.
