Shce very little evacuation shelters or medical activities were required,
the role of the voluntary agencies was primarily that of providing USG
P.L. 480 food and some clothing and blankets. They also had advisory
membership h the Working Party for National Relief Operations. Ih this
latter role, USAID/Ghana stated the experience of the voluntary agencies
provided useful information on the organization and administration required
to deal with disasters.
