Springhill

Adelightfulhomeinasuperlocationwithlargegardens.

Detached bungalow set in landscaped gardens of just under an acre

with a swimming pool. A superb Kenilworth location the home has;

drawing room, dining room, study, kitchen/breakfast, utility, master

bedroom suite with dressing room and en-suite, two further bedrooms

and bathroom. Garaging, workshops and ample parking.

“Vivienne and myself had both lost our spouses, came together, married and

decided to sell our respective homes and buy a family home, suitable for

ourselves and one able to accommodate our now large combined family.” says

Peter “In 1981, we acquired a suitable plot of land, set back from this pleasant

road and commissioned our Canadian timber frame/brick house to be built.

Happily we had lots of input into its design and the result has been our fabulous

home in which we have lived so happily since. The welcoming bright, spacious

hall leads through into other rooms where much wood, natural materials and

sunlight create a warm ambience throughout. Bedrooms are fitted with built-in

storage and the master bedroom has the luxury of a large patio window

opening out onto the garden. The spacious kitchen with its sycamore units and

Aga cooker is elegant and timeless. There is a separate dining room and the

bright and sunny sitting room opens out onto the large patio, perfect for quiet

contemplation or relaxed dining enjoying the garden.”

The flexibility and spaciousness of the house and garden is perfect for

entertaining, whatever the occasion.” continues Vivienne “With our combined

children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, there can be quite a large

number of us gathering, which happened quite recently when I celebrated my

90th birthday here. The large garden is mainly laid to lawn with trees and

herbaceous beds, plus there is a delightful water feature and an idyllic summer

house containing a wooden hammock built by Peter; one of his favourite places.

Summer is a special time in the garden, especially when the family are around

and children are taking advantage of the swimming pool or playing in the

garden.”

“The town centre of Kenilworth is just five minutes away and has a full range of

shops and supermarkets, independent shops, plus a popular weekly market.

Access to a good range of independent and state schools is convenient and the

nearby golf club also offers sporting and leisure facilities. We are centrally placed

for major roads and motorways, main line stations nearby provide services into

Euston or Marylebone. Birmingham airport is just fifteen minutes away. We both

feel very sad that we must say goodbye to our lovely home but have so many

happy memories of our 31 years living here.”*
