Adelaide’s very own DIVA Ladies Club raising money for Kidsafe SA
Kidsafe SA is the leading non-government, not-for-profit organisation dedicated
to the prevention of unintentional childhood injuries and provides an information
service for parents and carers of children on all aspects of child safety and
injury prevention.
Injuries are still the leading cause of death in Australian children aged one to
fourteen, accounting for nearly half of all deaths in this age group. More
children die of injury than die of cancer, asthma and infectious diseases
combined. There is still much more work to be done to reduce this shocking
statistic
In South Australia, the Kidsafe Centre is located in the Women’s and Children’s
Hospital at North Adelaide. We provide an education, information and resource
service for parents, carers, grandparents and students on child safety and
injury prevention at home, in the backyard, on the road etc.
Our major fundraising function for 2011 is the DIVA Club Ladies Luncheon –
‘DIVAs go Wild @ Sanctuary Adelaide Zoo’ - to be held on Friday 9 th September.
Opened in 2010, Sanctuary Adelaide Zoo is a state of the art function facility
located on the first floor of Adelaide’s Zoo’s new $30 million re-development.
We are pleased to announce the major raffle prize for the 2011 DIVA Ladies
Luncheon has kindly been donated by Springfree Trampolines – a R54 Compact
Round Trampoline valued at $945.00.
There will be a fashion parade, music, great food and wine and an opportunity to
have a girl’s day out, while raising money to support the work of Kidsafe in SA.
Approximately 250 ladies will be attending this year’s luncheon!
For years we heard tales of the “Boys Club” lunches, and the secret business
transacted there. Adelaide’s very own DIVA Club was launched in 2007 as partly
a tribute to that magnificent female, Makybe Diva, but mostly a tribute to the
members.
The purpose of the DIVA Club is to meet at least once a year; to enjoy very
good company, food and wine, and generally to have a good time. As an added
bonus, we donate all profits of the Ladies Luncheons to Kidsafe SA.

Kidsafe SA DIVA Club ladies Luncheons are organised by the Kidsafe SA
Fundraising Committee Members who include Jodi Brumby, Casana Perryman,
Janie Green, Karyn Foster, Helen Clarke, Theofania Kulpinski, Helen Noblet and
Holly Fitzgerald.
