S.W.I.N.G.: Supporting Women in New Growth
Facilitated by Merle Salus-Herbig, LCSW,
Fresh Start Social Worker
Self-esteem can be defined as “having a realistic respect and
favorable impression of yourself.” Past experiences coupled
with social messages can hurt our ability to cultivate self-worth,
follow through with our goals, and create long-lasting, healthy
relationships. In S.W.I.N.G., join a community of women and
combine group discussion with journaling to challenge past
experiences, let go of negative thoughts, and build self
confidence. Recover your gifts and the ability to believe in
yourself! This 8-week, closed group is limited in size and
requires pre-registration. Call (602) 261-7172 before attending.
Wednesdays, October 13-December 8, 6 to 7:45 pm
Al-Anon
Al-Anon is a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics
who share experiences, strength, and hope in order to solve
common problems. We come together to learn a better way
of life and find happiness whether the alcoholic is still drinking
or not. Find out if Al-Anon is right for you. Take a moment to
ask yourself these questions: “Are you troubled by someone’s
drinking?” or “Did you grow up with a problem drinker?” If
you identify with either of these statements, you may find
Al-Anon helpful. Women only.
2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month, 6:30 to 7:30 pm
Alcoholics Anonymous
The purpose of this group is to encourage women to share
experiences, strength, and hope with each other so they
might recover from alcoholism and help others do the same.
Women only.
Mondays, 6:30 to 7:30 pm
(no group September 6th or December 27th)
