Making life easier to live
Life is easier with easys. At Hettich, we call it trendsetting
innovation. easys is one of them. The compact electronic
drawer opening system opens up a new perspective
in style, comfort, ergonomics and handle-free
design – for you and your customers. Exemplifying our
philosophy that technical progress must serve the user
every time.
Drawers fitted with easys open at the slightest touch, or
gentle push, anywhere on the front and the drawer
immediately glides open evenly and gently. Closing is
equally as convenient thanks to high-quality Quadro
runners with Silent System for gentle closure.
A mere nudge is all it takes to close the drawer again
in virtual silence. easys provides yet another attractive
reason for customers to opt for drawers.

easys makes the home a wonderful place to live in
easys is ideal:

large pans or bottle crates

easys peps up the options for creating perfect furniture. It's in
the kitchen that easys is particularly good at demonstrating its
practical value: if your hands are wet, dirty or happen to be full,
all it takes to open the drawer is a nudge on the front panel with
your knee, leg, foot or hip.
Combining easys with handles or pull profiles doubles convenience
to the user. To open the drawer, the customer is then free to
choose between gently pulling the handle or simply pressing on
the front.

easys works effortless
Contact wanted
Regular contacts involve an element of trust and easys
deserves this trust. The system works on 24 V safety
extra-low voltage and is not physically connected to the
drawer or runner. This is why the drawer can be stopped
in any position when it opens. It is closed again by hand
in the usual way on the easy-action, tried and tested
Quadro runners.
Special programming prevents easys from opening when you don't
want it to. Drawers stay closed if the front is leant on for a time
or contacted in any similar way. easys is safe and uncomplicated
in everyday handling.
The drawers can be opened by hand at any time. The same also
applies, for example, in the event of a sudden power cut.
The system restarts all by itself – returning to the home position
fully automatically.

With collision guard
easys is intelligent! The drive units are interconnected
by special data lines so they can communicate with
each other and swap important information. For
the user, this means even more safety and operating
convenience.
The kitchen corner situation: Opening a
drawer or pot-and-pan pull-out presents
the risk of collision with a drawer that's
open in the diagonally opposite unit.
Damage to fronts and injury to the kitchen
user are accidents waiting to happen.
This is where easys provides a simple
solution. If the pull-out is opened in a
unit, a cable that's available for optional
use deactivates all of the pull-outs in the
unit threatened by a risk of collision.
Blockage of the second unit is only removed
once the pull-out is completely closed again.
The electronics enable the unit and
reactivate the opening mechanism.
The pull-out can be opened again in the
usual easy way by lightly pressing the front.

Pull-outs fitted with easys next to units
without easys: This is also where there's a
risk of drawers colliding if they are opened
at the same time.
easys identifies the hazard and deactivates
if an adjacent unit is open.
A special spring-loaded button reliably
registers drawer opening. Any positioning
can be chosen.
Deliberately or accidentally pressing on the
front has no effect.
The opening mechanism is only reactivated
after closing the adjacent unit.
A light press of the hand, and easys opens
the pull-out in the usual reliable way.

Planning and use
Little effort, great effect
easys adapts to any situation without a problem. Space-saving
and with a shallow installed depth, it discreetly disappears behind
the drawer's rear panel without taking up storage space. Suitability
for all widths and depths ensures the greatest possible design
creativity. Extremely short activating travel also means that easys
can be used for cabinets with and without sealing lip.

focus has been to make assembly easy.
The easys drilling jig makes easy work of
positioning the fixing holes.
2) Plug connectors simplify connection of
profiles and profile mounts.
3) The connection cable is routed down
through a hole drilled in the cabinet base.

Installation and wiring
4) The profile fixtures are screwed to the
top and bottom panel of the cabinet at
pre-drilled fixing points.
5) The drive units are fixed to the profiles
and connected to the integrated power and
data lines in a matter of seconds.
Afterwards, height can be adjusted without
a problem at any time.
6) Infinitely adjusting opening distance
and synchronising the drive units is
straightforward and intuitive.
7) The power supply unit holder provides
flexibility in siting the power supply unit
at any chosen position.
8) The power supply unit simply slides into
the power supply unit holder. If it is need
to be replaced, this can be done without
tools and taking the cabinet apart.
9) The distribution block can be easily
connected with all necessary cables in
front of the cabinet.
10) Practical plug connectors make wiring
safe and easy.
11) The distribution block with all
connections is being held by a specific
bracket, which can be positioned
anywhere underneath the cabinet.
12) Special buffers are mounted on the
rear of the front panel to ensure the right
spacing between cabinet and front.

Hettich takes a responsibility for the world we live in. This
awareness defines the strict policy of environmental management
we practise. Our environmental officer has taken personal
responsibility for these aspects throughout the company group
over a period of many years. In addition, a separate environment
committee has been established for each production site. We regard
statutory provisions as minimum requirements. At significant sites
we also implement the stringent EMAS Directive. And we drive
forward developments that in future will help to save even more
raw materials and support the necessary endeavours towards
sustainability.
Hettich environmental management
Hettich started introducing effective environmental management
systems under the stringent EMAS Regulation (currently: EC
Regulation No. 761/2001, including EN ISO 14.001/2004) as long
ago as 1996. This not only enables us to improve our environmental
performance on a broad front but also achieve a high level of safety
which, not least, also benefits our customers. This is why we also
require our suppliers to meet the necessary minimum standards of
environmental protection, industrial safety, health care and social
welfare.
The results achieved in the drawer-runner and drawer-system
product segment at the Kirchlengern operation illustrate the
impressive effects these measures have and verifiably demonstrate
our tireless endeavours to translate words into action:

Zero-energy building - Hettich Forum
The Hettich Forum building with its neutral energy balance is a
shining example of future-proof building design. Photovoltaic
panels and solar collection system providing hot water as well
as extensive roof greening and use of rain water underscore this
building's overall sustainability concept in just the same way as
the broad use of cellulose insulation material from recycled newspapers,
highly efficient heat recovery and the bulb-free lighting
concept do.
With the Hettich Group having acquired European Commission
GreenBuilding Partner status on 5 March 2009, the comprehensive
approach demonstrated by the Hettich Forum has also convinced
the adjudicating panel of the national "Green Building Award
2009". Hettich received the first prize to be presented in the

easys is suitable for use in kitchen and living-room furniture both
at home and in commercial applications.
General Technical Conditions
The fitting instructions, screw-fixing points and loading
information specified in this catalogue assume proper attachment
using Hettich flat-head or panhead chipboard screws of the
stated size in a cabinet material providing a screw pull-out
resistance of > 1000 N in accordance with DIN EN 320.
Hettich accepts no responsibility for the use of materials or
methods of attachment other than those stated. If other
materials or methods of attachment are used, the furniture
manufacturer is required to verify the system's load-bearing
capacity.
