Giving thanks is what this month is all about. It’s the time of year when a shift in seasonal weather induces a shift in our mental state. We begin to reflect on the year now coming close to an end in order to start thinking about what we want for the next. Our loved ones come together for the obligatory holiday outings, and though we often forget, we soon begin to remember what keeps us going all year long and what brings those most cherished together to one table... food. Let’s be real, it’s true. Why do we love to over indulge this time of year in a glutinous rage of frenzy? Because it’s comforting, it’s delicious, and despite what some of our models may say, eating is what we do to stay alive. It manages to bring together all walks of life in peaceful harmony, as it did at the first Thanksgiving, and as it will do for years to come.
