Ph.D Programme
The Institute is a recognised centre for pursuing Research
leading to Ph.D. in the areas of Information Technology
and Management Studies. IDRBT started this
Collaborative Research Fellow Programme with reputed
Universities/Institutes from the academic year 1999-
2000.
The Research Fellows work at the Institute on projects
related to Banking Technology, specifically in the focal
Research areas of the Institute and simultaneously get
registered for the Ph.D Programme of the
University/Institute after fulfilling their respective
admission requirements.
M.Tech. in Information Technology
IDRBT offers a unique two-year M.Tech in Information
Technology (with specialisation in Banking Technology
and Information Security) in collaboration with the
University of Hyderabad. The programme derives its
strength from the fact that the Banking Industry is
becoming increasingly dependent on Information
Technology to retain its competitiveness and adapt to
the ever-evolving business environment.
The course is designed to impart in-depth knowledge
and expertise to the students through innovative
learning, supported by high calibre research and
technology leadership. This multi-disciplinary
programme merges the new and emerging Information
Technologies with the domain expertise in the evolving
field of Banking and Financial Services.
The curriculum, spread over four semesters, consists of
courses on Core Computer Science, Banking
Technology and Information Security, which provide a
right mix of various aspects of Computer and Information
Security, and a year-long Project. Admissions to the
M.Tech are made on an all-India basis in order of merit in
the nationwide entrance examination.

The Post Graduate Programme in Banking Technology
Management (PGPBTM) is a fast-track Programme
designed to provide to the Banking and Financial Sector
in India, regularly, a pool of talented professionals with
technology expertise and managerial excellence to
strongly support the technology deployment initiatives
from key managerial positions in senior and top
management levels.
This one-year programme provides essential learning
inputs on technology implementation, integration and
management to the candidates to help them meet the
changing requirements of the Sector. The focus of the
programme is more on Management Issues and
Concepts involved in Implementing Technology than on
the core Technology Issues themselves.
The PGPBTM is envisaged to produce all-round
professionals of the highest-calibre on par with the
products of the Best Business Schools in India and
abroad. Admissions to the course are based on
CAT/ATMA scores, group discussions and interview.
