Systems

Scope of the Journal

IJTIS proposes and fosters discussion on the transition role of innovation systems for

the community, with emphasis on the implications that policy choices have on both the

welfare of humans through the technology, and the catch-up process in transition

countries. This perspective acknowledges the complexity of the innovation system as an

interface between technology and socio-economic processes operating in parallel over

different space-time scales, as well as the reflexive characteristic of human systems.

The concept of a 'system of innovation' is providing a new approach to the growth of

countries, the competitiveness of nations and the future role of innovation and

interaction between universities, government and enterprises through the 'Triple Helix'

system, a systems approach for countries in transition on their road to a market

economy. IJTIS provides refereed sources for investors and inventors on the institutional

policies and procedures in emerging economies, partners laying the foundation for the

management of their scientific and intellectual assets in a professional manner.

What the editors say

about IJTIS

In art innovation is always beauty. I am honoured to

be part of Inderscience's team whose scientific

work contributes to exploring the boundaries of the

improvement of knowledge.

Prof. Marina Dabic,

University of Zagreb, Croatia

The Journal is strategically positioned between

East and West as well as, between academic and

practitioner...a journal that has been needed for a

long time.

Prof. Michael Harvey, Bond University, Australia,

and University of Mississippi, USA

We live in a world that is becoming increasingly

interconnected largely due to technology. Much of

what we know about the firm, culture, human

behaviour, competitiveness, and life in general is

being rewritten. This is the perfect time for the

introduction of a journal that will give exploratory

research an outlet for publication and

dissemination. I am excited to assist the

International Journal of Transitions and Innovation

Systems in building a platform for opening minds

and eyes to new logic and I encourage authors to

send new and non-traditional ideas to us from

consideration.

Prof., R. Glenn Richey

Associate Professor of International Marketing

and Supply Chain Management &

Robert C. and Rosa P. Morrow Faculty

Excellence Fellow, USA

Finally a journal focusing on a unique aspect of

innovation. Looking at economies in transition will

give further insight into differences and similarities

between different geographies. The journal will

serve both the academic and the professional

world.

Portland State University
