<strong>Western</strong> Libraries<br />

<strong>Western</strong> Libraries features eight locations<br />
across campus that provide access to: physical<br />
collections, individual and group study space,<br />
printing and photocopying facilities, Sun Ray<br />
terminals, PCs and wireless access for online<br />
use <strong>of</strong> library resources.<br />
The <strong>Western</strong> Libraries website (www.lib.<br />
uwo.ca) provides an easy way to search and<br />
discover <strong>Western</strong> Libraries’ expansive online<br />
collections. In person or online you will also<br />
find friendly, helpful staff available who are<br />
experienced assisting <strong>student</strong>s with all kinds <strong>of</strong><br />
information needs.<br />
Hours <strong>of</strong> Operation:<br />
Individual <strong>Western</strong> Libraries locations are<br />
posted on the library website<br />
Taylor Library (Engineering, Science, Health<br />
Sciences and Schulich School <strong>of</strong> Medicine<br />
& Dentistry) and Weldon Library (Arts &<br />
Humanities, Information and Media Studies<br />
and Social Science) are the largest libraries<br />
on campus and through the school year are<br />
typically open between 8:30am and 11pm<br />
Monday to Friday, and <strong>of</strong>fer weekend hours<br />
(usually between 10am-11pm). Through the<br />
exam period Taylor is open until 2am, and<br />
Weldon is open 24 hours.<br />
Pr<strong>of</strong>essional libraries on campus include the<br />
C.B. “Bud” Johnston Library (Business),<br />
Education Library, John & Dosta Bitove<br />
Family Law Library and Music Library.<br />
Hours vary for each location but most are<br />
open between 9am-10pm, Monday to Friday<br />
and <strong>of</strong>fer some weekend hours.<br />
<strong>Western</strong> Libraries provides map and data<br />
support through the Map & Data Centre,<br />
located in the Social Science Centre, room<br />
1051. <strong>Western</strong> Libraries is also home to the<br />
Archives and Research Collections Centre.<br />
The ARCC provides access to archival and<br />
special collections materials on a variety <strong>of</strong><br />
topics <strong>of</strong> interest to researchers.<br />

Labs<br />
These labs are for general <strong>University</strong><br />
instructional use. When the labs are not<br />
reserved for classes, they may be used by any<br />
<strong>Western</strong> <strong>student</strong> on a drop-in basis.<br />

OWL (powered by Sakai)<br />
owl.uwo.ca<br />
OWL is an academic website where you<br />
can check your grades, see an online copy<br />
<strong>of</strong> your courses syllabus, or lecture slides,<br />
and is used by some pr<strong>of</strong>essors as a tool<br />
for distributing course assignments. After<br />
logging in with your <strong>Western</strong> username and<br />
password, your home page will display all<br />
your registered courses. Vendor support for<br />
WebCT will be discontinued as <strong>of</strong> January<br />
2013.<br />
<strong>Western</strong> Wireless<br />
Access to <strong>Western</strong> Wireless is<br />
only available to <strong>student</strong>s, faculty,<br />
staff and visitors <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong><br />
who have a valid WEI - <strong>Western</strong><br />
Electronic Identity. Faculty, staff and<br />
