Connolly Counseling and Assessment is a psychology group practice in Southern California with a team of professional therapists and counselors providing therapy, assessment, psychiatric care, career consultation, and chemical dependency treatment for individuals, children, groups, couples and families. The company was founded in 2011 under the leadership of a licensed psychologist and current executive director, Dr. Bob Connolly.

NATURE OF AGENCY/POPULATION SERVED

Connolly Counseling and Assessment is a group private practice that includes a

variety of mental health professionals including licensed psychologist,

psychiatrists, registered psychological assistants, LMFTs, LCSWs, career

counselors, interns and practicum students. Along with our dedicated office staff

and administration, we all work together to provide a variety of therapeutic

services to our clients including psychodiagnostic testing and psychiatric

evaluations. The practice has grown rapidly and offers a robust environment to

receive training and grow in a private practice model. Population served includes

individuals, couples, families, and groups ages ranging from 4 to 80 years old.

Presenting problems are primarily anxiety and depression, loss and grief, trauma,

and a multitude of life transitions. Demographics of clientele are representative of

the greater Los Angeles community as well as the surrounding communities

served. We have office locations in West Los Angeles, Downtown Los Angeles,

Claremont, Newport, Pasadena, Redlands, Chino, Encino and Beverly Hills.

DIRECT/INDIRECT SERVICES

Direct services include short- and long-term individual therapy, group therapy,

family therapy, and couples counseling, as well as psychodiagnostic

assessment. Indirect services include consultation and referrals as needed,

supervision, training, and paperwork. Paperwork is minimal, consisting of intake

evaluation forms and progress notes. Students may also participate in program

marketing and development. Total number of hours expected for the position is

18 hours per week, 10 hours direct and 8 hours indirect services.

THEORETICAL ORIENTATION

There is no theoretical preference for students. Supervisors can help students

conceptualize and practice from a variety of orientations and intervention models,

including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, family-systems, differentiation,

humanistic, existential, and solution-focused.

SUPERVISION

1 hour individual and 2 hour group per week.

TRAINING

Participation in seminars and didactic trainings, outreach, and case

presentations.

LENGTH OF TRAINING

August 1 – July 31

VACATION

10 allotted vacation days to be coordinated individually with supervisor.

PREFERRED/REQUIRED DAYS

Wednesdays

STIPEND

None. A parking stipend is available for those offices that do not have free

parking available.

DISABILITY ACCESS

Most of our offices have elevators for accessibility.
